Why We Like The Tungsten Ultralight Hatchback 3-Person Fly

Our Marmot Tungsten UL Tent already has a fly, but this Tungsten Ultralight Hatchback 3-Person Fly includes a gigantic awning for chilling under when wet weather threatens our backpacking trips. It's still plenty packable and lightweight for backpacking far and wide, and the extra space gives room for relaxing or cooking when it's wet out.

I really like it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Note that this is only a large fly for the Tungsten UL 3P tent. The tent could be purchased with a smaller "standard" sized fly or with the Hatchback fly. I bought this fly as an additional optional fly for our standard model 3P tent. I really like it, but it is huge and probably not well suited to backpacking due to weight, the large footprint and the number of stakes required. We will likely use it for trips that involve both car camping and backpacking, using the Hatchback for car camping and the standard fly for backpacking. I set it up in our yard during a stormy weekend and was surprised how well it handled strong winds. I had it nearly fully staked out minus the two high side tie-outs.

Flooded inside

I bought this because I loved the size of the vestibule. The tent is awesome, sets up quick plenty of room and everything. Except the condensation, as soon as the sun goes down it starts building up and it doesn't stop till the sun rises and slowly evaporates it. I don't even enter the tent till at least 4-5 hours after sunset but when I do I'm soaking wet and the ground in the vestibule and everything inside the tent is soaked just from me touching the tent. Even if I do manage not to touch the top with anything as soon as I unzip the tent it's enough for all the condensation to fall over me and everything else. I shouldn't have to go to bed wet and sleep in water because of condensation. Then again in the morning I wake up and get wet all over again. I always set new tents up ahead of time at home and tie on all guy lines and make sure everything is good and I know how it is done before going camping. I leave it open all that night to air out then put it all away and wait to camp. That night it was foggy out so I assumed that was the reason the whole inside of the tent was wet so I didn't think anything of it. I was totally wrong.

Great 3 season tent

i have only used the tent once, but loved it. It went up fast and was easy to setup. Comfortable to sleep in and breathes well. Only downside is there isn't a lot of pockets inside the tent, i got a birdhouse and it solved that.
