The Cadillac of synthetic bags!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I'm a bit of a "clean freak". I am washing my clothes constantly, and that goes for my sleeping bags too. My old down bag served me well, but washing it more than once a year, even with the proper down detergents left the bag in a less that desirable state.
I know, I know, "Just use a sleeping bag liner!" you say! I was thinking the same thing until Marmot came to us last spring and brought out their latest synthetic bags with HL-ElixR insulation. I was skeptical that their claims of a down performance and size with synthetic pluses too.
Now this bag may not stuff down or weight about the same as a down bag (but comes damn well close), but it is extremely comfortable, holds true to its warmth rating and is all around a killer bag! Plus (a big plus for me) it can be washed!
