My 6-year-old who is about a pinch under 4 foot had enough room to toss and turn, kept him warm and cozy. He enjoyed how soft the material was and how it zipped all the way over his face, definitely leaves some room to grow into.

Keep 'em warm so you can sleep!

The issue with buying adult sized sleeping bags for kids is that there is so much excess space that it creates a lot of drafts and the kiddos can never get warm. These smaller bags are great for keeping them warm and cozy all night which in turn means that you can also sleep well. They don't pack down very small and are pretty heavy so I wouldn't use it for backpacking, but for car camping they are great.
