Thor Tent
The Marmot Thor 3-Person 4-Season Tent has a burly six-pole design to fight off wind and snow during the roughest high-mountain storms. Designed specifically for alpine climbing and mountaineering, the Thor Tent stands strong whether you're taking on Rainer, Denali, or Aconcagua.
Marmot thought ahead to storm-bound days and gave this tent the Knees Pole System to steepen the walls and increase its overall interior space. Coated nylon keeps the tent intact through some of weather's worst offerings, while the pole sleeve/clip combination delivers a strong, sturdy, and well-ventilated tent that's easy to set up. Meanwhile, Marmot made sure that all perimeter floor seams are up and off the ground for incredible waterproof protection when you're battling the elements on high. Two large, D-shaped doors make for easy entry and exit while also opening up its flow, and the pole-support vestibule provides spacious storage for all of your gear at the end of the day.

Marmot Thor 3p is a True Expedition Tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using 4-season expedition tents for over 40 years. I can’t say enough about how this tent impresses me. Marmot tents don’t benefit from the name recognition of other brands but after you own the Thor 3p you will understand why it is used as a base camp tent on Everest Expeditions. And when it is set up with the guy lines it is truly bombproof. It is self-supporting which can really come in handy in rough terrain.

Marmot Thor 3p Performs Flawlessly in James Bay
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used my Marmot Thor 3p on a canoe expedition on the Eastmain River in the James Bay Region of Central Quebec in July 2024 and it performed flawlessly. We had high winds, lots of rain and some cold temperatures and the tent kept us dry and snug. We even had to camp on a small mountain top with no place to stake and everything was great. The fact that the Marmot is also self supporting is a great plus.

Sanctuary in the storm
Best 4-season tent! I have lived in my Thor 3p for several weeks at a time in the Himalayas, Andes, Sierras and Rocky Mountains — and it never disappoints! It’s quick and easy to setup. The 6-pole construction and fully seam-taped catenary floor and fly provides a stable structure that can withstand the highest winds and heaviest precipitation with ease and grace. The two vestibules are incredibly spacious and easy to access with the large D-shaped doors. The 3P is ideal for two people when there’s a lot of gear. It truly feels like a sanctuary in the storm.

Bomb-proof tent...but heavy
I've owned this tent for around 10 years now and used it on Mt Shasta, Mt Baker, and all over the Cascades in very windy and cold conditions. This tent holds up exceptionally well, I've had to replace the fly after 6 years because of some delamination but other than that it still performs well. This is one of the few 3P tents that I've found can actually fit three people relatively comfortably. Setup is easy, ventilation is great, and the large vestibules are great, especially if you do have 3 people in the tent. My only negative (and the reason for 4 stars) is the weight. However, if you split up the tent between 3 people it's not too bad. Otherwise, great tent!

This is a great product. Heavy but worth the weight if you are headed into an alpine wonderland!

Amazing Winter Tent
This tent is an absolute beast. My girlfriend and I bought this as a winter tent in 2020 and it is completely fantastic. So far it his gone through a blizzard in Canyonlands, a windstorm in the Badlands that destroyed most of the other tents in the campsite, and a lot of cold nights. It has come out of all of this with flying colors. This tent easily fits two 6'3" people and gear. It is about 20F warmer than the outside temperature and kept us toasty in sub-zero weather. It's also very thoughtfully designed with lots of accessible pockets, reflective strips on the outside, dual layer doors, and better than the usual pegs. If you need a winter tent this is the one.

My go to piece of equipment
I have had my Thor 3p/4s tent for 7 or 8 years now. It continues to perform. It can be cool in the summer and protect you in the winter. Presently I am resealing the rain fly and getting ready for a southwestern boon docking trip (its the only way I roll). Starting in Chicago and continuing to LA. This tent performs.
