Doesn't Stand Up to the Mountains

My last bib was Arcteryx and they still somewhat worked after 15 years of epic mountain adventures. I replaced them with the much cheaper Spire bib and they're trashed after one season. Spires just don't stand up to ski mountaineering. On the plus side they fit well with room for layers and articulate nicely. They seal out the champagne Sierra powder on deep day tours. They're pretty light. The suspenders work well. The pockets are a standout feature, I love them. I like the full side zips, though they don't work well for venting as the snap comes undone and they flap around. Lesson learned -- I just splurged on some Arcteryx pants. They're expensive but they stand up to the mountains.

Solid Performer in Variety of Conditions

I have put 10 days of skiing on these bibs and have been impressed with their overall performance. Conditions have been a variety from fresh powder to a steady rainstorm. The Gore Tex fabric has been stellar at keeping any moisture off of my legs including during the 3 hour rain sessions. On a warm 40 degree day the pants did not overheat and minimized any internal moisture. Feature wise they have everything that I was looking for. I wear a knee brace when skiing so the full leg zip was a must, and not a common feature. The zippers and leg cuffs are easy to use with snaps to fit over ski boots. Fully taped leg zippers did not allow any moisture. I carry my gear in my jacket pockets but two small hip pockets could be used for ID or other small items. I am a fan of the full bib (not pant + suspender) to ensure nothing goes down the pants. The fit is a bit odd with legs being fairly athletic but a bit large around the mid-section. No issue once the suspenders are I'm about 6'1" , 170 lbs and the Size L fit well. I did try a Medium but the legs were way too snug.

Cool bib, too small

I bought these bibs as a gift for a friend, but had to return them as he found the thighs to be too tight. He tried on a S but decided to have me return them as they were too tight. I dont remember his dimensions off the top of my head, so sorry to those of you concerned about the fit.

Disappointing - Not Built to Last

On the first day out, these ripped on the knee. I sucked it up and put a gore tex patch across the hole. But now the seems in the knee are starting to split at the seem - after only 1-2 seasons of skiing. I am a weekend warrior and these pants cannot keep up. Marmot, you can do better. These are not made for serious use. I compare these to my Arc Teryx pants, which are 15 years old and still in excellent shape.

@Jacob- may I ask how you ripped the pants in the knee? Was it just from ordinary use?
