    Just your luck.

The weather forecast is showing a plethora of powder over your winter getaway, and you plan on taking a full advantage of every day by riding first chair to last in the Marmot Men's Sidecut Jacket. With fully taped seams, Marmot's waterproof, breathable MemBrain makes sure this jacket doesn't turn into a soggy mess mid-week, and Thermal R insulation helps keep you warm when the winds are whipping icy snowflakes in your face. In case you get too warm, the jacket's core vents dump out excess heat quickly. The powder skirt keeps snow out face shot after face shot, and Marmot made the Sidecut's hood helmet-compatible so you can stay covered when you're staying safe.

Quality Jacket, Seems Small NOT large

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 185lbs

Love the quality of this coat, lots of pockets, easy run zippers and solid stitching. For the sale price you can't do better. Waterproof, insulated, lots of adjustments ( hood is built to fit a helmet but can be cinched way down if desired). Core vents are a little inadequate ( small zips on side of coat - should have gone with a full pit zip if you are skiing) but not a deal breaker.
NOTE ON SIZING: Based on other reviews that said coat runs huge I ordered a size smaller than my usual. Big mistake, should have stuck to my usual, as coat is tight in forearms and feels too snug with even a light layer underneath. If you like things form fitting then you might like it small, but I do not so I am returning. May try the larger size.
(for comparison I am 5'7" stocky build 185 lbs, usually wear an XL shell to accommodate layers comfortably. Went with the Large per reviews and was too small)

    Made well runs large

    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 165lbs

I bought the Medium and returned it because it was too big for my liking. The jacket is well made and has a ton of good features for the price. I would have kept it if it was just a tad smaller. The insulation seems warm. I have another Marmot jacket with the same thermal r insulationa and it has always worked just fine.

    Runs Large

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I bought this jacket for my husband and Backcountry suggested a Large based on his size profile. It was ENORMOUS so we sent the jacket back. Would recommend your normal size and not the suggested one by the website.
