The perfect coat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently thru hiked the Appalachian trail, and I can say that I would not have made it without my Marmot EVOdry. It's the perfect coat for all temperatures and actually makes a nice pillow too, lol. The waterproof technology is otherworldly, you stay dry from the outside while also venting your sweat to keep you comfortable all day. This is absolutely the best jacket I've ever owned!

Just the Right Weight, and Sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a lightly but effectively insulated rain jacket. Other brands try to sell uninsulated waterproof shell jackets for the same or more money. This seems a much better value. It seems sturdy and well made. I am 6'1 195 and the large seems good, but might be a little tight if I were to add heavy layers. But then, I would be choosing a heavier parka. Others talk about awkward jacket flap in the front near your chin, and that it would wag if not snapped. Well, I have been able to ignore it easily, and it's handy if the rain is being driven by wind. The hood fits well but it's not insulated like the jacket is, so wear a hat along with the hood if the rain is cold, and/or cold temperatures.

Nice length and design but the flapping sucks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a 5'10" 155lbs. I usually go with a medium for bulk jackets or medium athletic fit for everything else. I went a size down for this one due to length and style. The neck covering goes high with the top three buttons (great for cold evenings without a scarf). However, when the collar is folded down, the collar flap on the left side is too long and looks odd. It just flaps around and is odd. Marmot included a stow away hood. They should have added a stow away flap.

I'm very disappointed in this "coat". This item is clearly identified as an "Insulated Parka" with Primaloft insulation and listed along with the other winter parkas on this website. It is very light weight and while I do believe it to be insulated with Primaloft it's the lightest weight and thinnest Primaloft I've ever encountered (I've owned several winter coats with Primaloft). A close look at the various product literature hang tags included by Marmot does describe this as a raincoat with insulation which is probably a more accurate description of the garment. Sadly I was shopping for a winter parka not a raincoat. Both the product managers at Marmot and Backcountry need a good talkin' to! It is a beautiful, well made coat. I'll likely keep it and see how it performs but I'm pretty sure that during very cold weather an additional insulated layer will be needed. Lastly the packaging was a further disappointment. The coat was packed and shipped rolled up in a ball inside a plastic bag with nothing further to protect it. While I understand the need for shipping economically a $450 coat deserves better packaging. Will think carefully about further purchases.

A raincoat to stay dry in

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just got this beautiful raincoat and it's the best one I've ever owned. It fits perfectly, has great pockets and keeps me dry in the worst downpours.
