PreCip Jacket

Protect yourself from precipitation while releasing your perspiration in the breathable, waterproof Marmot Women's PreCip Jacket. The PreCip is 43% more breathable than last year and offers solid 10K-rated waterproof protection. Throw on this comfortable shell when heading out on the trail in wet weather, and its microporous NanoPro membrane with microscopic, densely-packed pores and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish will go to work keeping rain drops out while letting perspiration through. The DriClime mesh chin guard prevents moisture buildup from your warm, moist breath and dripping sweat—moving it quickly away from your skin and drying quickly. Fully taped seams ensure rain doesn't sneak through the cracks, and you can batten down against the elements by pulling in the hood, hem, and cuffs. When you start getting steamy huffing up a hill, unzip the underarm vents to let cool air in and pent-up heat escape.

Great for Cycling; the hood can't be beat!

I just got this for my birthday, and this garment performs excellently in the frigid cold of Wisconsin.  I cycle year round, and for this purpose, both the hood and the general construction of the garment are awesome.   First, the hood can be worn beneath a power stretch beanie (a big plus for me) without any added strain on the neck.  I hardly know the hood is there whether I'm using it or not.  Secondly, the garment itself excels in three aspects: weight, warmth, and flexibility.  The weight is so thin that it acts as a very efficient base layer.  The thumb wholes are also great, as they are thin enough to use while wearing cycling gloves.  This helps reduce the typical chill spots on the wrists when the temps dip below twenty degrees.  The warmth greatly reduces the need for a heavier mid-layer, a big plus for cyclists trying to reduce bulky clothing.  We've already had single-digit temps with windshields below zero, and paired with a light mid-layer and soft shell to break the wind, I was toasty warm on my commute.  Lastly, the flexibility is superb.  Again, I hardly know I'm wearing this garment.  Great job Marmot!  I hope I get a second for Christmas.

Snug fit, excellent for

Snug fit, excellent for layering. warm and breathable. For me, 6' 200 lbs muscular, the size large is cut very nice, although my intent is to use it as a warm baselayer/very light midlayer. If you want to wear anything in under this it would have to be very low volume. (150g wool is ideal) This piece will be coming with me on every spring climb this year. Marmot makes the best use of this new fabric (polartec power dry high efficiency) that I have seen yet. For anyone unfamiliar with the fabric, imagine a lighter, more breathable, and slightly cooler version of patagonia R1. For an overheater such as myself, it is a prayer answered.
