PreCip Eco Jacket

Keep your girl comfortable in wet weather or a downpour on the trail in the lightweight and breathable Marmot Girls' PreCip Jacket. This protective shell with fully sealed seams offers 10K waterproof protection and more breathable comfort than last year's version, thanks to Marmot's NanoPro Eco waterproof membrane and equally eco-friendly DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The brimmed hood effectively shelters your girl's head without cutting out her peripheral vision, so she'll be able to clearly see around her when crossing the street or moving along the trail. The jacket is constructed for free movement, and though lightweight overall, features recycled nylon ripstop fabric that offers hand-me-down durability.

  • Rugged rain jacket made environmentally friendly
  • NanoPro membrane is reliably waterproof and comfortably breathable
  • Recycled nylon fabric with fully sealed seams for weather protection
  • Adjustable hood rolls into collar for convertible coverage
  • Item #MAR01Q2

Great, basic jacket

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

My now six year old girl is on her third of these jackets, she's been wearing them since she was two and I just bought her a size ten to grow into. They are inexpensive, well made, and pretty versatile. Pretty much the perfect rain jacket in every way, EXCEPT for high wind situations. I tried to take her for a hike in driving rain, and because there's no way to cinch down the hood it flaps about, fills with wind like a sail, and becomes a huge pain in the ass. Likewise there's no cinch at the bottom, so cold air will leak up there also if you are thinking of using this in a cold weather layering scenario. I will try to make this work for a while longer, until she's tall enough to get into an "adolescent-sized" jacket with a proper storm hood.

PreCip for kids

Outerwear has improved so much in the last generation. Years ago a CB jacket with scotch-guard liberally applied made a jacket water resistant. Not water proof. The advent of technologies like Marmots NanoPro has elevated outerwear to levels never seen before. These days kids can #optoutside in whatever weather comes that day. This has lead to the ability to outfit the next generation with quality outerwear at a great price. The Marmot PreCip jacket is always with me when there is a chance of the weather turning south. Now that same great fitting jacket is with my daughter when she opts outside.

Great Jacket

Purchased this jacket for my daughter and she loves it. It packs down pretty small and she can stash it in her pack easily. Fit is true to size. You can roll the hood up into the collar but if you don't fold it just right it can feel a little wonky (my daughter leaves the hood out). She's worn it in downpours, gusty days, and even over an insulate layer when hiking in the snow.

I bought this as a gift for my friends little girl and she looks so cute in it! Not to mention it's a great rain jacket for the little tykes :) Definitely a must-have for your little one. I bought the pink color and it is so rich and pretty in person.

The Marmot precip is a great low cost rain jacket that will keep any person dry and playing for hours. I got this for my niece who lives in the pacific northwest and always plays in the rain and this jacket keeps her dry and able to stay comfortable while chasing her friends around.

Excellent jacket, initial impressions

Hiked the Webster-Jackson trail to the summit of Mt Jackson with my 12 y/o, we got caught in a couple torrential downpours and she was dry as can be, while my (older) Gore-tex jacket eventually started absorbing water on the sleeves and getting heavy. The jacket is super light as well, I may get one for myself.

I ordered this for my nine year old and the large fits perfectly. She is on the lanky side.

My daughter wanted an orange rain jacket just like her dads. It is lightweight, which is great because she is always so warm. She loves it and wants to wear it all the time. Will work great as a layer in the fall/winter. The material seems like it will hold up for a long time. Would recommend it highly.
