Precip Eco Full-Zip Pant
Being prepared isn't just a motto reserved for scouts, but a good formula we could all do to remember when we're headed out into the backcountry. The Marmot Precip Eco Full-Zip Pants are a great necessity to have stashed at all times in your pack, and they'll keep you trudging through trails in the rain and sleet thanks to fully taped seams and waterproof, breathable NanoPro fabric. Weighing ten ounces, you'll hardly notice their presence, and full-length side zips make these some of the easiest rain paints to pull on when the weather changes. These zips also let you lose a little steam when things start to heat up, while zippered front hand pockets stow your favorite pocket knife and keep trailside snacks dry and ready for your next break.

Good stretchiness

First rain pant I've tried on that had stretchiness to it, which is so great. I was in between these and another pair, but had to go with the other pair because these were just too long and baggy. Waist fit perfect though.

Not only are these very waterproof, but they have the great feature of coming fully unzipped so they can be put on or taken off without removing your boots. It took me a bit of fumbling around to get the zips to come apart all the way, but was able to do it from the top/waist part of the pant.

Best Rain Pants for Shorties
- Familiarity:

- XS

I'm 5'2" and these are the only rain pants I have found that fit; on my second pair! Both the XS/Short and S/Short fit me just fine over regular pants since the waist is elastic and somewhat adjustable. The full zip feature is absolutely essential. They have held up fairly well through climbs, glissades, snags on the trail etc, but I would expect to have to replace them every couple of years or so if worn for mountain sports.

Perfect Overpant!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- Small
- Height

Ordered size small (I’m 5’2” 107lbs) these pants are very easy to get on and off. I love the full leg zipper either from the cuff up or from the waist down. Zipper flap stays flat. Snap at cuff keeps it from flapping. Adjustable cuff cords to snugg it over your boot. Inseam is 30” on the size small, so fits a tad long on me. Waist fits a bit snug over base layer and fleece mid layer, but there are adjustable velcro tabs at waist. Elastic waistband in the front as well as the back. I like the snug waist because it’s flexible enough to not encumber during activity. Two front angled zippered pockets with mesh inner lining . I would have liked to have zipper pulls attached to make it easier with bulky gloves. The pockets are wide and deep enough to fit my iPhone 8+ with a hard case. The crotch has a nice gusset for comfort and strength. Lightweight but strong. Overall excellent quality. These will be great for those windy summits and surprise rain showers. Just finished testing them in todays New Mexico snow storm. Wore them over my winter fleece tights. I’m warm and dry after a short hike (2 hrs) in 19mph wind and blizzard like snow. PS: I wouldn’t call them noisy as another review stated. They work great!

Knees tight, noisy fabric
- Familiarity:

- Fit:
- True to size

- medium

The waist was snug but not painfully so. The legs would benefit from another inch of length. The fabric is a little noisy but I've had worse in rain gear. The overall fit is flattering and trim, not baggy like many rain pants. I returned them reluctantly because of tightness when bending my knees. They really need articulated knees. I don't like outdoor clothing that seems to be fighting my movement. I normally wear medium pants, sometimes small. I got these in medium and considered returning for a large but they might be too baggy when all I really need is more room in the knees.

I've used these once during a 7 hour hike in continuous drizzle and they kept me completely dry! I ordered an XS which is a little tight in the waist, but still comfortable during all day wear. I am excited to use these during more rainy hikes!

I finally got a chance to try these and there are great. The fit is right, the pants are comfy: great quality and not stiff. Kept me dry and while I was wearing some wool leggings under, it even became a little toasty!

I love Marmot products and was really excited to get these rain pants. They are typical Marmot excellent quality. And sadly were gigantic on me... I ordered XL Long for my nearly 6', 175 lb. bod. Length was great, waist fit perfectly, but the pants were very wide in the hips - even with a pair of Prana Brenna pants underneath - and I felt big as a house. Unfortunately, a Large Long pair was unavailable, or I would have ordered those.

Bought these for a trip and got the XS bc they were on sale and S wasnt available. Fit great BUT are pretty damn short! barely made it to my boot, so have to return :( but other than the length, seems like they would've been great. going to see if I can get the small size instead! So if you are skinny and tall, get the long option if available.

I got these as a gift for my parents to take to Iceland. The nice thing about these are the that they are breathable. So they don't get as hot as some waterproof pants, especially those made of Gore-Tex. If your end goal is a breathable rain pant for hiking I would highly recommend these. These kept my parents completely dry is constant rain and mist! The full side zips are convenient as well for taking on and off throughout the day as needed while keeping boots on.

Got these rain pants for a rafting trip during monsoon season and couldn't be more pleased with them. They are so easy to get on and off and kept me dry and warm on early morning rapids. They seem durable and are easy to clean.

Wore these everyday for 4 months for field work - great rain pants, lightweight, breathable, good fit. Tear-resistant, I went through some pretty dense shrublands and the pants did well. But I don't think they'll make it through next season: they stopped being waterproof - the material feels thinner, so I guess the waterproofing gortex is starting to wear off. So my thighs and knees get wet. We had a great run, but if you're doing daily work you might opt for something more heavy-duty.

I went on several rainy and muddy hikes in these, and they kept me dry and warm. Any mud that got on them rinsed out easily with running water and the material dried quickly. I was initially worried that the XS might be too tight, but they fit fine even with leggings and a second pair of pants underneath.

Awesome rain pant
I've lived in Alaska my whole life...backpacking, hiking, camping and many of those times were wet conditions. I recently took these pants on a 7 day Brooks Range backpacking trip and wore them for most of the time due to rain or just wanting an extra layer for warmth. I wouldn't hesitate to bring them again.

I bought these for a backcountry camping trip to Denali national park in September. It rained the entire first day and these pants held up great. They also came in handy for all the wet marshy bush wacking through tall brush and trees we had to do. Easy to put on over boots and easy to take off. They also have a really comfortable adjustable waistband. I'm 5'7'' and the M length fits.

I purchased these before going on a 3-night trip at Sunrise on Mt. Rainier - there were gale-force winds and sleety conditions in the forecast. These pants were my lifeline - the zip/velcro fittings worked extremely well and were easy to get on and off, and the material is seriously waterproof. The material is also easy to clean, shakes dry, and retains its waterproof-ness. I could have purchased a size S, but wanted to be able to layer - the extra room was worth it. I also don't feel like I'm swimming in the material. Great fit, awesome material, and well-thought-out design. Full-zip is SO worth it!

I am 5'6'' and 155lbs and ordered the large. They fit with enough room to wear an insulating layer underneath and still be quite comfortable. They are very flattering although if you are bothered by the crunch sound of rain pants you should most likely not order this pant as it is pretty loud. I will keep them and try to ignore the noise!

I haven't worn them in the rain yet but I can tell you that the quality and fit are outstanding. I am 5'6 and 130lb with an hourglass figure. I ordered size small and they are perfect in every way. Love the full length zipper and elastic waist. If you are comparing...go for the full length zip vs quarter or half, you won't regret it!
