I bought this jacket for Alaska . It is super warm and puffy. This jacket is for serious cold conditions. Packs down pretty small for so much high quality down filling...Probably a bit too warm for anything but freezing temps . perfect throw on for quick warmth without a bunch of other layers ! This will keep you warm even standing still . I bought a medium. i'm 5'10 160 lbs and it fit great....but as i said its very puffy as it has to be to be this warm .

I'm looking for a packable jacket for backpack hunting. Is this a good option? I'm assuming it fits slightly big to fit over layering? Is there a better option out there? Typically hike in the dark in baselayers then get to camp and sit for hours in 0-30 degree weather. wind very likely.
