Dry...but odd proportions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I stayed dry even in Icelandic rain - a big plus! Proportions are odd...small waist compared to the very generous hips and thighs, then very small ankles. Planning ahead is critical...my hiking boots had to come off to put on the pants. Proportions weren't a concern with the prior version

Just right
Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10,000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips don't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Zippers are fail points for waters so we elected to minimize the water ingress points. Tl;dr kept us dry. Breathed well for intense, medium duration active wear
