Repel the wind and rain in this lightweight jacket Gore-Tex Paclite material offers packable protection from the elements Adjustable hood keeps face shielded from the wind Draw cord hem seals out wind and rain Storms beware.

Don't be caught in a rainstorm without the Marmot Women's Minimalist Jacket. The lightweight, water- and wind-proof Gore-Tex Paclite material offers durable, reliable protection from the elements while saving space in your pack. Underarm vents let you regulate your body temperature as you work up the last set of switchbacks to the summit, and the draw cord hem keeps any moisture or chilly breeze from creeping up into your layers. If the weather turns really gusty, pull up the adjustable hood to keep your face shielded from the biting wind and sideways rain so you can stay on the trail until the storm passes.

Amazing jacket! I did my research before traveling to Patagonia and am so glad that I did! I wore my jacket yesterday on a catamaran traveling to the Upsala Glacier in Argentina.

This is a great jacket and I plan to buy it in several colors. The hood is wonderful for both wind and rain. I highly recommend this jacket and plan to use it in Colorado as well.

    My all-weather jacket

I wear this jacket all seasons in wind, rain & snow. I just came back from a ski trip in Upper Michigan. We had temps from 20s, down to negative 5. I skied and snow shoed by just adding layers. It’s replacing all my high tech ski jackets. Very comfortable and warm (when layering). I’m very satisfied and highly recommend. This is my 3rd year of owning this jacket.

I gave this to my wife as a gift. Her old rain jacket was on the last leg, and we needed to find something for everyday use, as well as backpacking. Perfect fit, and love the material. So far, the only test has been local rain, but we look forward to taking in on the trail soon enough.

    Perfect for Windy Days

I purchased this product for Fall/Winter in Iceland. The jacket was light and easy to pack. With the hood up, I was protected from wind and rain. The temperature was around 30 degrees with winds around 25 mph. The jacket was protective but I did need three layers underneath. It’s perfect for fall and spring would suggest an outlayer that is thicker for colder temps.

Pockets fill with water. Camera ruined.

I was caught in a surprise downpour this weekend while camping. I put my small camera in one of the pockets and zipped it up. The pocket got a lot of water in it, so much I had to pour it out. The camera is ruined. I contacted Marmot about the issue and got no reply. I will never purchase a Marmot product again.

Obsessed. I ordered at least 5 different jackets before my last trek because I couldn’t find one that wasn’t an awkward short length and was still big enough to layer under. This was the answer. It even has pit zips! I love the baggier fit. Would absolutely recommend.

Perfect Outer Layer for ALL seasons!

I bought this jacket because my mom has it in black and I love it. I bought the deep dusk. It is a beautiful color that pops when you're in the woods but isn't too obnoxious to wear in town. I normally wear an XS but bought the S so I could layer insulation under it for winter sports. I am 5ft and 125 lbs. I found it to be a bit long but the hem is adjustable as are the cuffs on the sleeves. With those adjustments, it fits well with room for layering. Haven't had heavy rain but I know from borrowing my mom's that it is very waterproof.

    Love the coat, but......

THIS COAT IS HUGEEEE! For my fellow lean ladies, don't listen to reviews. Many reviews state that a Small was the perfect size for 5'4" and about 115-120 lbs. This is my exact height and weight, however this coat is massive on me! I would consider myself fairly muscular, so most of my weight is quite lean and I do have a narrow pelvis. Typically my shoulders are a bit too broad for XS in some brands, but this was a very roomy fit on me in that region. Elsewhere, I was swimming in this coat even with a thick Patagonia pullover underneath (the retool in size Small--which is boxy on me). I can literally overlap this coat by about 5 inches still with a relaxed fit with a long sleeve under it. I returned for XS and I'm hoping that it is a little less sloppy looking on me even just for hiking.

    Love the coat, but......

I was looking for a light and waterproof jacket to wear, and this one is a perfect match for me! I am so stoked to take this on my backpacking trip this summer. I think one of my favorite things about it is how comfortable it truly is. It does not restrict movement at all, even though it is a slimmer fit. I will definitely be buying another color.

    Works for rain and wind!

I wore this for a 19 day trip trekking in El Chalten, El Calafate, and Torres del Paine. It was great in rain as well as a windbreaker. It folds up small and is light and takes up no space at all in a stuffed pack. I like that the hood is very adjustable and would stay on under strong winds. Also, it fit my down jacket hood without issue. And my absolute favorite part is that there are underarm zips that you can use to ventilate when you still need it as a windbreaker but are getting hot.

I think it runs a bit big; I ordered the medium which is loose without a jacket under it, but it's perfect for fitting a thicker down jacket underneath without restricting movement.

    Feedback below:
I ordered the Deep Plum color in a size small and I love it. The color is true to the image. There is a slimmer fit but I don't plan to layer too much underneath. Worked just as it should in the last thunderstorm! Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for a top notch waterproof jacket.

    Never leave home without it!

Bought this for my wife for a gift and she wasn't sure she needed it, but it has come in so handy. The fit is true to size as she pretty much wears a small. There is a little bit of room for layering but probably nothing really bulky. Excellent rain protection and it is impossible to find a gortex shell for this price point.

    Two thumbs up

I got the slate blue and love the color! It fits great and packs up small so I take it with me on all my adventures and travels around the world (or Utah, Idaho and Wyoming).

Bought this jacket in white for my wife. Medium fit her well as these seem to be sized small. Good rain protection. Inside is not lined, to the best of my memory. If I were to have to buy again, I would look for something similar, but with a lining.

Looked great, but tight around the hips

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

    • Size Bought: Small

Just comments on the fit, as I returned this jacket and didn't test the waterproof-ness. The small was tight around the hips (I'm about 38" around) but fit pretty well around the chest (also about 38" there) and the medium swallowed me when I wasn't wearing a down liner (5'3", 135lbs). If I were planning on layering frequently, I would have gone with the medium but I wanted something a little more streamlined as this was supposed to be my spring/summer jacket.

    It Has Earned My Trust

I was skeptical at first. I assumed that since this jacket treads the line between rain jacket and gore-tex hardshell, it'd be good at neither. I first used it as a daily ski shell all winter in Vermont and was impressed by its breathability. It fit well over a base layer and midweight down jacket. Since then it has kept me dry on a humid and rainy hike in Puerto Rico and in chilly, rainy spring skiing conditions. It wets out pretty quickly in places but is still breathable and waterproof. So far the lightweight fabric has stood up well to light abrasions from spruce branch whiplash and a few minor falls on rock/ice, but I'm curious to see how it'll hold up as I continue using it as my go-to jacket.

I like the looser fit of the small. It's a good layering size and the looseness prevents any back-of-the-neck sticky sweat buildup. The jacket rolls up into the hood and packs easily.

    My only two complaints:
--The hood wasn't designed for a helmet and doesn't stay up over a ski or climbing helmet.
--The pockets aren't well placed for wearing a backpack.

    Fantastic shell for the price.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've really put this through the wringer and let me say, This shell protects me from rain, wind, snow, and cold weather. Nothing gets through it. Very tough to rip or tear. Not to mention is comfortable AND sexy. I plan on having it for life, its wonderful. Very good deal for the price.
