Limestone Tent
Mashing two adults, two children, and a dog into a regular four-person tent could be called "quality family time", or it could be called "Timmy and Sally make each other cry, Sparkles pees on a sleeping bag, and Mom and Dad vow never to take the family on a camping trip ever again." If a standard four-person tent feels a little cramped, try the Marmot Limestone Tent, which sports a spacious design that comfortably accommodates four campers and a furry friend.
Part of the secret behind its spacious feel is its Zone construction, which creates vertical walls for more storage space and headroom. The interior is also fairly tall so you can move around, change clothes, and stretch out without being pinned up against the ceiling. The front door is super-sized so getting into the tent doesn't feel like crawling down a rabbit hole. The fly's vented to keep air moving even if it's rainy, and the internal pockets help the whole gang stay somewhat organized. It's been made with other thoughtful details, too, like reflective guy-out points so you don't trip and bring the whole tent down in the dark. The family will love you for that.

Limestone 4 Review
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Like many 4 person tents, the Limestone 4 is pretty tight with 4 people and better rated as a 3 person tent with regular sleeping pads in use. A fourth pad/person is not really an option when car camping and using more comfortable pads, etc. Our family of 3 (third being a 6 year old) fills the tent and our dogs get the dual vestibules. Plenty of gear pockets down low and very easy to use dual zippers on each door. With the fly on and all of the vents/fly doors open, more than enough airflow. Conditions get stuffy if you only use the two ceiling vents in a storm - best to experiment with the fly doors to ensure enough airflow. Double zippers are a great addition on both the tent and fly doors to allow plenty of entry/exit and airflow options (big win against other tents). The bent poles provide plenty of usable tent space for tall campers (I am 6'3 and no issue with headroom when sitting/laying down) and the rain fly gives outstanding coverage that keeps the tent dry in rough conditions. Take advantage of the guy lines to increase ventilation and add coverage when using the fly. The fly is also designed so that you can connect it to the tent and basically roll it back to ensure more air/views when weather stays at bay and a quick clip system ensures a fast transition should a storm roll through in the middle of the night. Vestibule space is adequate, but not palatial. We have two German Shepherds and there is plenty of room for them, along with gear, but you are not going to gain any addt lounging space with this design. Set up is quick and definitely doable for a single person. The overall packed size is large, but we have used for backpacking and just divvy up the tent. Scrap the tent stakes that come with the tent for a stronger and longer stake to ensure staking in all but the softest grass/ground. Not sure why a company can use outstanding craftsmanship on every aspect of a tent and skimp on stakes, especially for a large/heavy tent. I think this tent is a great value, easy to use and great craftsmanship/materials (especially the poles). The only cons include: really a 3 person tent (how we use it) and I ditched the stakes.

Perfect weekend tent

The perfect weekend tent. I took this out to telluride for the weekend and I was so comfortable and plenty of room for my sleeping bag and my friends. I can’t wait to take it out again next weekend. Super easy to put together and take down

Great tent

This tent is awesome! I've used a Kelty Gunnison 4 for years but wanted a little more height at the peak and this is it. I'm 5' tall and 68 years young and still LOVE camping. The higher sidewalls give me extra room to stretch out. Great feature. I've also camped with an older Coleman and can't manage the thumb push clips so the Marmot Limestone is a great alternative. I'm selling both the Kelty and the Coleman and can't wait for my net outing with the Limestone.

Nice Tent, cheap stakes
I bought this tent to replace my REI Hobitat 6 which i lived and had for 12 years. I like the design and features of the tent but the one downer is the aluminum stakes. Theyâre thin and bend if the ground is the least bit rocky. This tent is a car camping tent so why not provide steel stakes? Itâs not like weight is a problem. On top of that they donât give you enough stakes to guy it out based on all the locations they provide. Granted, only the gnarliest of storms require that. Iâll be buying REI steel stakes to replace the aluminum ones.

Easy and super comfy

I'm a complete newbie. In fact, this tent was the first I set up, and it took about 10 minutes in total. It was so easy! The tent itself is very well-made and kept us very comfortable during our first night outdoors. It's beautiful as well, although I wish the company logos were not so big and placed so centrally. Aside from that, totally happy with the tent!

Great For The Whole Fam

I picked this up as an upgrade from my trusty old 2 person tent, and man does it feel like a palace. Plenty of space for my wife and me, our little guy, and the pup. The vertical walls of the 'zone construction' really enhance the spacious feel inside. Additionally the interior height of 63" allows for plenty of headroom while changing/standing. All-in-all a great set up for family car camping.

don't have many complaints about this tent. It's perfect for those weekends camping with a group of friends down in The Swell. It's a rather bulky thing when all packed down but the effortless set up and take down is a breeze. It's spacious and the rain fly is good quality. happy with this purchase and know I am gonna continue to get great use out of it.

Good call on ditching the stakes, esp in the rocky mountains. Dang near impossible to get them in the ground! hahah!
