Give yourself a little extra headroom with the Marmot Limelight 2P Two-Person Three-Season Tent. Made with Marmot's Zone Construction, the Limelight 2P has a smart design that maximizes space, so you have plenty of room to kick back, relax, and play a quick game of cards with your tent mate after a long day spent hiking, climbing, or mountain biking.

Awesome!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Camped in the mid 40's in this tent and it did fine. The tent also did a great job of keeping any kind of insects out. Good design, solid build! Very easy set up!

The Perfect Tent

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought this tent on sale but am going to buy full price for my boyfriend because it's such a great tent. Perfect set up, I don't ever need help putting it up, which says a lot. All of the poles are connected in one central hub and the tent clips onto the poles (versus trying to slip the poles into the tent) which is my favorite part. Perfect size for one person and all of their stuff, OR 2 people with just sleeping mats and sleeping bags. We recently slept 2 of us plus our medium sized dog with no real problem. Spacious, comfortable, lightweight, beautifully sharp and well made. I don't think I'll ever buy another brand.

A Favorite!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have used the Marmot Limelight tent series a countless amount of times. It is probably my favorite tent for car camping. It is durable, not too heavy, easy to set up, and oh so spacious! I recently brought this tent on a rafting trip and it was the perfect tent for this trip. In fact, the group had brought a handful of the 3 person versions of this tent. Its a keeper. Even alone, the set up was a breeze! My favorite part about this tent is the spaciousness, the slightly bent poles which make the tent feel wide and open. This is a tried and true tent in my book!

Great tent for the price

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have had this tent for almost 3 years. I use it mainly for bicycle touring. For this purpose it is about 1 to 2 pounds heavier than I'd like, but I like the extra room inside so I will gladly deal with it. I wish the green color would have been available when I purchased mine. The height is great. It's nice to be able to sit up inside. It has ample guy lines on the fly. I've stayed completely dry in rainy and windy conditions. The underside of the fly does get quite a bit of condensation in humid conditions. Opening the upper vents and using lines to stake out the bottom sides of the fly helps a little. I wish the brow pole was in 3 sections instead of 2. It is too long to to fit in my bicycle panniers and has to ride on the top of the rack. The stuff sack is thin so I use higher quality stuff bag. Overall, I love this tent and will use it for years.

Fantastic tent :)

Light enough for backpacking, but also sturdy and ideal for car camping. I'm planning to get two so my siblings and I can backpack more this summer!

Exactly what I needed!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I love this tent! I've used it a few times for standard car camping, but it got a lot of wear on a backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon, where it saw snow, rain, sand and heat. The set up and take down is quick, the fabric is durable, and the weight/size is manageable for hiking. Also, it is a perfect size - easily fit myself, my husband and our packs. It feels roomier than it is and on rainy days we did not feel the slightest bit confined when forced to stay in the tent. The stuff sac material isn't quite as durable and it ripped a little after there was too much pressure from one of the poles - nothing a little duct tape couldn't fix, though!

Built well!

This tent is lightweight and easy to set up. The reinforced seams make the tent strong and water proof. While I purchased this tent for rainy and windy conditions, I would use it any season. The pre-bent poles make this tent easy for one person to set up.

Super Trooper

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought this tent before joining a conservation corps. Took the tent to Colorado and camped in it as my home. Worked 45 days in 14'er terrain on the CDT and this tent took it. Overall spent that whole summer May through October in this tent and it lasted all the rain, hail, and thunderstorms it could muster, kept me dry and warm. Fast forward to my next corps season (March through October) ran into a foot of snow in the Sandias with multiple corps crew leaders, my tent was the only tent that DID NOT CAVE and break due to the snow while we were out doing trail work, saw many of Nemos vestibules cave that day. Sadly, halfway through that season my vestibule zipper broke and started to gain a hole and then the whole thing slowly started falling apart. Was hard to keep it dry with a hole and damaged zipper. but I really LIVED in this tent and as far as a corps tent goes, mine seemed to last exceedingly longer over other tents that went through corps life kids. I am also a bit of a backpack enthusiast and now see this tent is a bit heavy and super weird to pack, but super warm and perfect for the dirty corps work I was getting into.

Terrific tent

I've put it through the wringer

I bought two of these (one for son and one for me) 2 years ago for scout camping, trail hiking and getting ready to do some kayak camping. We absolutely love them. We've put them through the ringer. We've used them in hot cold, windy, 50 know gusts sustained 30 winds. I like them because we can put our backpack inside if we are camping 1 to a tent on short hikes or camp comfortably with packs outside and 2 people inside. You can adjust the sides for more or less air based on temps and winds. Stakes are good though it doesn't have enough for corners, doors and the front and back. We've camped on rock, mud grass, pallets and its still holding up great. It is kind of easy to zip up a flap in the zipper but very easy to back the zipper off without causing a tear or rip.

Thanks for a great review, Stephen! I am glad to see you are enjoying your tents. Have fun this summer!

Marmot really does it all with this tent! It's easy to set up, super waterproof, and really open! I've been super satisfied with all of the wonderful features

Roomy!!

Lots of space in this tent and its not to heavy for backpacking. The three person version of this tent is also awesome. Great if you are looking for a more roomy camping/backpacking tent.

Just about right

I bought mine in 2015, the poles are the standard arched version, without the elbow shown in the current model. It's been good to carry when backpacking, bicycle touring, and of course it fits when car camping. Rain and wind haven't been an issue. Pretty good ventilation if you open the extra "window". Simple to setup between two people, takes 5-10 minutes.

Does The Trick

Super easy to set up, lightweight makes backpacking not a chore, and is roomy enough for two people and a dog (albeit a cozy night)!

Solid tent

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I never brought tents backpacking with me because I felt I couldn't carry them. this one wasn't bad to pack in and it's very roomy when you set it up. it's a good solid tent.

>Rating: 2

Packed size is much larger than specs

The tent is great but the packed size is 25x7. The top tent pole measures 25' so it's impossible for it to fit in a 18x7 sack.

Is this true???

Hi, first of all, I would like to say thank you for the great tent! And I have a few questions: Which side goes up when I set footprint? How can I clean footprint - can I wash it? How can I clean the tent itself? Thank you!

I have a 10 year old Marmot 2 person tent, and the sidewalls are basically horizontal. Wife and I plus doggo fit, but the feet of our bags get soaked from condensation. I think the 2 person limelight will give us the extra room we need, but she's convinced we need to upgrade to the 3 man. Since I usually carry the bulk of the weight this is concerning to me. Any thoughts on using this for 2 plus 40 LB dog?

Hi, I have several questions: Does it include footprint, gearloft and and an overlap? Can hoy give me some info about tent's water resistance? Thnks!

Hi Florencia, this tent does come with a gear loft and footprint - and has two vestibules for plenty of dry gear storage. This tent is going to keep you dry in most conditions short of a hurricane - but I'd be happy to discuss with your further - give me a call or email.

Does this tent have a gear loft and/or storage pockets inside?

Hansen, the Lime Light 2 does come with the gear loft and there are pockets in the corners to put some small items like a headlamp.
