    Super Light!

I have been using this to carry things to work the last few weeks and have been really happy with it. This pack is lightweight and easy to store with how small it folds down to. I am stoked to use this pack for day hikes from a backpacking basecamp, it will easily store at the bottom of my pack and weighs next to nothing. The back and shoulders are actually quite breathable as well. From a price stand point though this is a great bag to just have for when you need to go super light.

      "Hydration compatible"

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this for summits, and brought it with me in my pack on a trip to Europe. The pack fell massively flat. It says "hydration compatible" BUT, and this is a big but, it doesn't have a slot out of the main compartment for the hose! It has a compartment in the bag, and a loop on the shoulder straps, but no where for the hose to get OUT of the bag. To add insult to injury, the zipper ends on the opposite side of the loop, AND it rolls down. Trying to thread the house out through the zipper just pulls on the zipper, unzipping it, and it rubs against your neck because it has to go across the back of your neck to get into the loop on the shoulder strap so it's not flying around whacking you in the arm. So it's basically impossible to close the pack and use it with a hydration bladder. I don't know how they missed that one. If it had a slot, it'd be great! I'm seriously considering taking it to a seamstress and having them add a slot. It packs down nicely. The shoulder straps dig in with a bladder in the pack, but to add padding would reduce it's packability.

      Solid Pack for the Weight!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Absolutely love what Marmot has done with this backpack. I used to have a similar back pack from Sea to Summit that eventually tore after years of use, however this bag is a 70 denier as opposed to others that are around 15-20 denier. So far the minimally thicker material as held up super well. Weighing in at a mere 6oz, this bag really packs a punch for being so lightweight. That being said, only purchase this bag if you plan on carrying 5-10 pounds of weight and make sure to take caution when packing it as there is no back support pad or anything - this is really never an issue as long as you have an extra layer or rain jacket to cover the oddly shaped camera case for example. Another thing: I usually am pretty light on gear and hesitate to rest this on rocky ground unless necessary, so when I take a break on the trail I usually try and find a grassier spot to hang out. You really have to think about how this bag will work for you, its incredibly lightweight (only a hair heavier than the SeatoSummit) but incredibly versatile with the fold down top as well as the gear loops. I would definitely recommend this bag to a friend!
