Why We Like The Kodachrome Convertible Pant

Convertible pants have been a staple in hiking apparel for some time, but we reach for the Kodachrome Pants because the technical features keep us prepared for much more than just a change in temperature. The DWR finish sheds moisture from precipitation, while the integrated UPF 50 sun protection shields your skin from harmful UV rays on exposed ridge-tops.

  • Nylon construction is lightweight yet durable
  • DriClime waistband wicks away perspiration
  • Gusseted inseam and stretch construction move with you

I was going on a 24 day trip down The Colorado River with many family members (new and old) post a Covid-sized wedding (my son's) and wanted a 2nd pair of convertible pants. I have had a pair of Marmot Lobos for years and was looking for another color besides tan. The Kodachrome pant in Crocodile fit the bill. My Lobos pants are a size 4, so I ordered the Kodachrome in a 4, but also in a 2, just in case! Well, I thought this plan would work, except both pair of pants were huge. Now, I have not changed sizes over the years. Luckily I was able to order a size 0 from Marmot directly, which fit just like my size 4 Lobos! A big shout out to Backcountry for their easy return policy. And FYI, the trip down the canyon was magical:)
