You don't need to be stressed out about the weather when you've got the Marmot Knife Edge Jacket stuffed away in your pack. The lightweight shell has a water and windproof Gore-Tex Paclite membrane that provides packable construction so you have no excuse to not have a shell with you when you embark on a day hike, weekend adventure, or bike commute to work. When the sky opens up, pull out the shell from your pack, slip it an, and stay dry and protected from the elements with help from the fully taped seams and DWR treatment.
Aside from being able to pack small to shove into a pack, the Knife Edge Jacket is also equipped with Marmot's Angel-Wing Movement so you aren't being restricted by your jacket as you quickly hike down a mountain when a storm rolls in or pedal home from work when the afternoon showers unload. When you throw on the hood for particularly nasty downpours, you can make adjustments so your peripherals aren't impacted as you make your getaway from the storm. So water doesn't get down your sleeves while you make your escape, cinch up the hook and loop adjustments at the asymmetric cuffs to be snug on your wrists. If you take a wrong turn in your hurry to get off the mountain, you can still shove your hands into their pockets and access your map while you're wearing a pack due to their high placement.

Runs a little small in the chest
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fit except in the chest area, I ordered a large and everywhere else is literally perfect, but unfortunately the chest region is a little tight. Also very light weight, not thick like the other Goretex products I've had.

Reliable and Comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently bought this jacket after hours and hours of research. Not only has this jacket kept me dry during my Florida day hikes but has secured the spot as my Appalachian Trail rain jacket. I find this jacket to be extremely comfortable and lightweight. The underarm zips are a dream especially walking in the humid rain in Florida. I also really appreciate the cord that can be adjusted on the back of the hood. The pockets are spacious which is always a concern of mine while purchasing clothes. All in all, I highly recommend this jacket and look forward to my journey of the A.T. in my Marmot Jacket !

Great fit & features but GORTEX needs reactivation
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the fit and features of this jacket, however, after only 3 uses I've got some patches where the GORTEX seems to not be working. I tend to baby my gear, so this is surprising. I'm going to follow instructions to reactivate the waterproofing before jumping to conclusions, though.

Love this jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted an all-around workhorse shell that would keep me dry, have a comfortable fit, and not cost an arm & a leg, and I'm very excited I found this one! The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful teal color and the feminine fit. I'm 5'9, 150, and normally wear a M - ordered a L to layer up underneath and it fits perfect with my puffy underneath. So far I've worn it ski touring, hiking in the rain, and for wind protection belaying. Looking forward to using it next winter! Lots of compliments on the color and style.

Love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used it a few times in the pouring rain and it has kept me bone dry. Also useful as an outer shell layering piece as it gets cooler. I’m 5’4, about 125 lbs, and the small fit nicely. Had a nice length to it as well, not too short, not too long.

Lightweight and good looking
I bought this for my hiking adventures -my old one started leaking after 8 years. This jacket is very light and soft, fits perfectly, and looks great. And the price was excellent, too!

Warm and dry for a week in rainy Iceland
Bought this jacket to make sure rain wouldn't keep me from being able to hike during a trip to Iceland. Good investment as it rained 5/7 days of our trip and this jacket kept me 100% dry (at least on top... wishing I'd bought rain pants from Marmot too!). I got a large (I'm normally medium-to-large) so I could fit layers underneath; I had no trouble fitting a light puffer but you won't be able to fit much more if you are my size. Great windbreaker too.

Great Waterproof Shell
Bought two for my daughters in advance of a May trip to CA Gold Country and then Squaw Valley. Worked great for rain while in Gold Country and then for mid May-snow while skiing at Squaw Valley.
