Stayed dry and warm all day on the slopes (with many falls!) - no snow made it past these pants. The lack of hook for the gaitors worried me but again, no snow inside my boots. These pants have a stretchy material that snaps above the natural waist of the pants as an optional EXTRA layer of protection from the snow, keeping your low back and bum warm. The fit is described as slim but I found the legs to be roomy enough to wear an extra layer underneath and still bend easily and the bottoms are not extremely "belled" , which was a plus for me! Another plus...Backcountry had these pants to my door the day after I ordered them!

I love these pants even more than I imagined I would. They are truly waterproof and so very warm. I used them to hike Algonquin peak and trudged through feet of snow and these kept me warm and dry. On my descent I had fun sliding and appreciated the built in gaiters when I realized NO snow entered my pants or boots. I got them in the color 'waterfall' and it is true to the picture. I love the color! The cut is flattering and fits my athletic frame well. I enjoy the flared bottoms but in my opinion it's barely wide enough to call it a bell bottom. There are plenty of pockets! I know these were designed for skiing but they're my favorite pants to accompany me on a winter hike. EDIT* I love them so much I bought a second pair in Royal Night for skiing. They're incredibly warm and keep the wind out.
