We keep warm while we hike, ski, climb, and camp in the versatile Marmot Hype Down Hooded Jacket. Its lofty down insulation traps body heat for warmth when the temperatures are low and also compresses down to a convenient, compact size so we can easily carry the jacket along on our backpacking trips. The face fabric of the jacket is windproof and water-resistant to keep us protected in light storms. If the weather should take a turn for the worst, the slim cut allows us to easily layer the Hype Down under our favorite shell.

Warm, light lofty perfection!

Light and warm!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Light, warm. i love it!! I strongly recommend this ppl who are looking for light jacket. This is not for extreme cold temp. But good for general winter temp, little below 32F. This is not water proof.

Super warm

Poor quality, not warm
I ordered this in black at the end of summer in anticipation of cold temperatures this winter. I chose this jacket specifically due to its 800 fill claim, which should mean the jacket is warm enough for chilly winter days. However, I recently tested the jacket in 45-50 degree autumn weather and, unfortunately, this jacket simply is not even close to being as warm as advertised. In addition, I have worn this jacket all of twice (and only for short walks outside with my puppy), but down feathers are coming out of every part of the jacket--to the point you can visibly see little white dots speckled across the entire jacket. Finally, the color is not black; it is very dark blue, which is disappointing as I already have a dark blue jacket and did not seek another one. I have several other Marmot jackets that I love and have used for years, but I am very disappointed by the poor quality of this jacket. I wish I could return this.

Exactly what I wanted!

Good jacket, but color and size are disappointing
I recently purchased this jacket in Military Green. I was excited for the color, as it not only looked bright but also unique. I used to have a similar Marmot jacket that I bought last year but was ruined by paint, so purchasing this one was a no-brainer for me: the fact that it is thin and light while still insulating your body for the Colorado cold months or keeping it at a balanced temperature during fall or spring is AMAZING. However, I am disappointed at two things. The first one is the color: it is far from being this beautiful yellowish military green. It is rather a boring faded whatever color (which is what I hate about most of this type of jackets and the brands that sell them, as they always have the same boring colors). The second is the size: I bought an XS just like I did with my previous similar jacket and this one runs much bigger, giving me more of a bulky look than the form-fitting look that I appreciated about my other jacket. I won't return the product because the quality is still there, but It was def a bummer to not have my expectations met.
