Ditch the tie and go for a hike.

Deceptively clean-cut, the Marmot Men's Harrison Pants would fit right in at the office, but their real home is amongst the rocks and trees in the great outdoors. Made with a lightweight woven nylon blend, these breathable pants offer UPF40 sun-protection and quick-drying properties that won't do much good burrowed under your desk while you stare at a computer screen. Break them out for a hike after work and you'll quickly find what the gusseted crotch is for when you're lunging over rocks and fallen trees, and then realize that the DWR-finish is there for more than just a minor water cooler accident when you're caught in a brief sun shower out in the woods.

    Fits Large

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 32 short

The 32 waist is a bit larger than the stated size, more like 33. The short length was accurate more or less, about 30. The fit is shall we say overly enhanced, very relaxed, quite loose. Not quite MC Hammer Style loose but still...

    Stretch, Soft Shell Feel

These are sweet pants that have a nice crossover technical feel without being too much for daily use.

They feel almost like a softshell pant with the DWR finish, but from a distance look like a nice pair of casual/dressy pants.

These are a bit heavier, so will make a great pant for the Fall. I would highly recommend these for hiking/backpacking in cooler mornings and evenings.

I felt that they ran a bit large and had a bit of a relaxed fit.

    Comfortable, a little loose

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pants are super comfortable and definitely breathe better once you've washed it once or twice.

Supposedly they fit in at the office, but they scream hiking pants when you see them on. That said, they're great for hiking and I've taken them backpacking and the gusseted crotch definitely helps while hiking. They're not stretchy AT ALL though so climbing in them would've be much harder had they not been so loose (but all in all not really recommended for climbing.)

A little big (My thighs are about 28" around and they're still fairly roomy)
    Not Stretchy
Big fan of the room the gusseted crotch gives though

Oh yeah and the back pocket is ridiculous and small, I never use it. You could probably fit some business cards or cash that's folded into 1/4th.

Claims to "fit right in the office".

I'm glad I read a review of this pant elsewhere, which warned that its vanity-sized so one needs to size 2 inches down. Even then, it still fits loose and looks REALLY SHABBY for the office. Also doesn't stretch and its back zippered pocket is a ridiculous design choice - it's too small for even a handkerchief. Regretted buying this. No more Marmot pants for me.
