Built for backpacking trips with a small group, the Marmot Fortress 3-Person 3-Season Tent comes equipped with all of the best features of the top-selling Tungsten Tent, but also a full canopy and additional guy outs to help handle stormy weather. Spacious and sturdy, this tent comfortably fits three spaciously thanks to the zone pre-bend design and vertical walls, while the burly, treated fabrics do their part to repel water in a downpour. Furthering its robust construction, sturdy aluminum poles clip together with color-coded Easy Pitch clips for a quick setup. Then, the two D-shaped doors open up the flow to help us sneak in and out throughout the night, while two vestibules give us plenty of dry storage space for everyone's gear. Internal pockets help our group organize smaller items, and a lampshade pocket securely holds our headlamp to create ambient light.

my new favorite tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for xmas, got to use it for the first time over the weekend (March 2023). night time temps went down to the mid 20'sF. Set up was super easy in the dark with just a headlamp on. I used this car camping so it was just me and my giant gear bag and i had plenty of room for me to spread out. kept all the vents closed and no condensation issues. I will be using this for most of my camp outs. i'm 6'3" and the bent pole design is a great feature as it kept the tent wall off the foot of my extralong sleeping bag. The main dome gear hook worked like a dream, meaning no sag from hold a big lantern thanks to the cross pole design.

Loads of Space and Warm for Shoulder Seasons
This tent really is great! I love how it handles the cold, with enough mesh for the summer. It seems to be very strong…had it out in some really windy conditions. It’s a great tent and I highly recommend it (if you can still find one!).

A Fortress on the Trail
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tent was outstanding on the Teton Crest trail and in the Grand Canyon. I spent much time researching tents before this purchase, and valued strength and weather protection over weight and convenience features. I mainly backpack off season where overnight temperatures are 20-30 degrees. The Marmot Fortress kept me 10-15 degrees warmer than the outside temperatures, and held up well in 50mph sustained winds at Static Peak Divide. And in the Grand Canyon at Thunder River and Deer Creek, I found the tent ventilated well during the days and sealed in warmth at night. I slept extremely well in this tent, and wanted to share my positive experiences with the Fortress 3P.

Fortress 3
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this tent to use for scout trips with my kids. I wanted a 3 season tent for fall and winter excursions in the southeast. It was super easy to set up and had plenty of room for me, my son and my backpack. While I’m sure we could fit a third person it would be extremely tight. Ventilation was good and we had no condensation. This is a heavy tent but for my purposes (mostly car camping and short walk in camp sites) it is fine. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a footprint. Why can’t a footprint be standard?

My 1st new tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great purchase, my tent got lots of admiration, as photo a landmark, light, spacious and fancy, the temperature can be well adjusted, by selectively opening of the zipper at each side of tents with mesh to ward off the bugs. A great purchase!

Marmot Fortress 3 Person Tent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my favorite tent I have ever owned. It can easily handle 3 Season Environments as well as 4 Season environments. I really like that it is not mostly mesh like most 3 season tents as the solid walls provide privacy but with the built in vents, you still get some airflow through the tent. It handled up well in strong winds and rain during our camping trip. I also used the Marmot Footprint for this tent. Setup only took about 15 minutes but that was because it was my first time setting it up in the dark. I did not have a problem fitting all the poles, rain fly, and tent back into the stuff sack. I can't wait to use it again. My only complaint which is not the tents fault, but as I am getting older, I would have liked the door opening to be a bit higher to make it getting in and out a bit easier.

Fortress meets my expectations
I bought my first Marmot item in 1989, a Ptarmigan sleeping bag. Love it and used it this weekend. This Fortress tent is equally good, well made and just the right tent for a Grandpa and grandson to enjoy! Thanks again.

Buck Up, Use The Most Versatile
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is known as a 3 season tent, believe me this tent can handle any season. It may be over 5 lbs. but I have never been knocked down from a mosquito landing on my back. Seriously this is a perfect tent, and I get the ultralight thing, but if you are out in the early spring, or late fall this is for you And I have seen reviews about the ventilation, if you are one of them. Learn how to use a zipper. Marmot has one of the best tents on the market ! The Fortress Series period

What are the floor dimensions to this tent? May I suggest it would be great if Marmot would add floor dimensions in the specs of all their tents. For taller campers, it can be THE deciding factor. Thank you. Love your products!

What is the main differences between the UL and normal? Is the UL poles as strong as durable? Is the rain fly as waterproof and rip resistant?
