The Marmot Ether DriClime Hooded Jacket protects us from the wind and light rain on those days where the wind just keeps blowing. A DriClime lining wicks away moisture keeping us cool while we're hiking up steep switchbacks or just on a morning run through the neighborhood. Mesh underarm ventilation works to dump excess heat, and 360 degree reflection means that we'll be more visible on that early morning run.

Exellent wind bracker
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- M

I was shocked by how well this jacket holds up against the wind and keeps you warm. I bought two versions: the Novus LT Hybrid and the Ether DriClime, and they are both excellent. The DriClime is great for fall and spring, while the Novus is great for winter. In the picture, it's about 0°F with wind speeds of 20-25mph, and I'm wearing the Novus LT Hybrid.

Great Jacket for many purposes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a Men’s Ether DriClime Hoody and I must say, it’s just the ticket. Love the orange color. It fits great—I’m 6’3” and 175 lbs and the large was perfect. Here in Colorado it will be a great 3 season outer piece and good for layering in the cold, especially with the hoody. I use it for running, cross country skiing, going for walks or as a base layer. It has a slight stretch which makes it so movable - I just love it!

New design is for looks but not functionality
I had a 2007 DriClime of the same size which was an amazing jacket; it was a go-to piece for my thru-hike of the PCT; I loved it every since and it now starts to fall apart -- this new 2023 version is a disappointment: marmot redesigned the shoulder area (they moved the seam from the upper bicep area to half-way on top of the shoulder), and, as a consequence, the fit is now too tight and restrictive for arm movements while walking, hiking, birding, etc. (it may now look cooler as a fitted jacket for urban wear).

Perfect!!!
I have been wearing different versions of this jacket since 1999!!! The combination of being windproof with just a little insulation is PERFECT for so many activities! Because the outer material isn’t really connected to the inside, the jacket has an unexpected loftiness, & is WAY warmer than you’d think it would be…but at the same time doesn’t get too hot??? There was one version (windshirt) that even had small perforations in the armpits which was AWESOME. I live in Colorado, & I wear this piece for everything from an outer layer on cold spring and fall days, to a mid layer for low output activities. I even used to use one for snowboarding. My only complaint is that they only make the hooded version now. For me, nothing else I’ve tried really competes with this thing. Please don’t ever stop making it!!!

The perfect fall and spring jacket.
I love this jacket.. I was previously a ski-patroller, so I’m sort of an outdoor clothing junkie. It’s the perfect fall and spring jacket IMO. To combine a super lightweight windbreaker and super soft micro-fleece liner, with close wrist ends and synchable waist plus three zippered pockets is genius I think. Seeming simple- but I have not found anything like this from other clothing companies. It’s super versatile and a great west coast “ traveling / hiking/ camping jacket”. I had an earlier version of this jacket in grey without the hood which I loved (bring back the hood less option and offer it in more colors!) and lost it (on a plane I think).. I was so happy to find out that they still made it and bought two - one for myself and a bright one for my teenage son. He loves it too. (And so will you!)

Excellent, with one minor caveat
I hope the DriClime jackets aren't going away because they are awesome for most three season weather conditions. It's true the fabric catches when you put it on over a long-sleeved shirt but that's not enough to dissuade me.

Great lined rain jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great jacket. Waterproof with a soft but very thin lining, so you won't get overheated. On very cold and rainy days, wear a sweatshirt and a thicker raincoat. When it's just sort of sprinkling and chilly, this is the best choice. I like baggy so I got a large, but a medium would fit perfectly.

Great for outdoors when you may get sweaty
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this jacket enough when working in my garage and hiking / backpacking, I can say it has conveniently replaced what I used to wear (a wicking layer and a layer that mostly blocked wind. Even repairs on the occasional snag has been easy. I think I'm going to buy this again just because of the quality. To be clear, this is a jacket that I used for activities where it would be a base layer + this jacket. I'd put a insulation layer over top if needed.
