My first pair of Marmot work gloves lasted years. They were made of quality leather and were comfortable and strong. These are pure unadulterated trash! The fake leather is like tissue paper! Notice the year the reviews were given, big change. My $40 would have bought me twice the glove at Home Depot. Back Country, this product is beneath your quality standards and should be recalled and refunded.

Never seen Marmot use such a low quality material.

Awful, not like the old ones at all!
I love my old Marmot work gloves. These are cheap AF and will not hold up to anything. Thin, crispy, brittle feeling," leather" will fall apart immediately. Don't bother.

worst gloves ever
Stay away from these overpriced, low-quality gloves! These are a copy of hardware store “keyhole thumb” work gloves that are made of the lowest quality materials I have seen. Any other glove from backcountry.com would be better than these! It looks like these gloves used to be made with better materials in the past, hopefully they bring up the quality!

Same Price, Lower Quality
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
These gloves used to made from a nice soft leather. The latest iteration (bought from SAC) is garbage. That they are advertised as "leather" is a stretch. At 40$ is criminal. On sale I still wouldnt buy them over whats available at the local hardware store.

Marmot Basic Work Glove - Men's
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Basic utility glove, they do the job. Fit and construction didn't hit the mark for with these. I prefer a softer leather and better dexterity with this type of product.

Great Gloves!!!
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
My husband absolutely loves the Marmot Basic Work Gloves for skiing and all around winter use. He's probably on his 4th or 5th pair and plans on continuing to buy them as long as they're being made.

Good quality leather glove
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have medium size hands the Large is a good fit, not bulky, just a bit snug above the wrist but as I continue to use them it slowly has loosed up. Got the dark brown leather look very sharp and the lining feels comfortable, use around the yard, hiking/mountain bike trails.

Sturdy glove
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I wear these gloves almost everyday, They are perfect for almost any kind of outdoor work where the temps don't drop too far. So far I've found 32 F is where the comfort limit is for myself and these gloves. If you're looking for an all purpose lined leather go getter work glove, you cant do much better than these.

Basic Work Glove
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
This glove is a great value. I was choosing between a few pairs of work gloves and ultimately went with another pair so I returned these but think that maybe I should have held onto them, just to have them. I did not have the greatest dexterity when I tried these gloves on but they are inexpensive for what they are.

Marmot Basic Work Gloves
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These gloves are as comfortable as they are sturdy. I bought several pairs for my family and everyone loves them. They are warm enough to stand up to subzero windchills and yet tough enough to withstand hauling our gear out on the ice to go ice fishing.

Great gift for that Dad/Uncle/Father-in-law/Grandfather that is hard to shop for. Leather material is super soft. This is a versatile and warm glove that fits perfectly. He loves them!

Runs Small
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
These gloves are well built and comfortable to wear. The leather looks nice and the inside material is soft and warm. I give this a four star review because they are fairly thick and dexterity is fairly limited. The sizing really isn't an issue just size up one size.

I've had several pairs of these now (haven't worn through any yet, just tend to lose them). Very comfortable and sturdy, they keep my hands warm on a motorbike when the temps start dropping into the 40's.

I've fallen in love with these gloves. I used my first pair primarily as a heavier backpacking glove for early mornings at high elevation (CO 14ers, mostly). The glove kept my hands plenty warm and held up great even after countless scrambles on pretty jagged scree. After my first summer with these gloves, winter rolled around as it always does... I found myself out a pair of ski gloves and grabbed these in the early season as a substitute. I didn't plan on using them long; just until I snagged something heavier and more activity-suited... I used these the entire season. Amazingly, even on CO's coldest days my hands were never cold. Maybe I have unnaturally good hand circulation, or maybe these gloves just rock. Anyway, even after countless uses throughout the previous summer and countless days on the slopes, the gloves were still ready for many more adventures. I still have that original pair, but purchased a fresh pair in the Spring in preparation for a season working with the Forest Service. I've put my newest pair through a lot. They may be permanently stained with tree sap and bar oil, but they're holding up just as well as ever. Couldn't recommend these gloves more. I've found that even with the insulation they're a fantastic year-round go-to for a range of activities.

If you need and sturdy pair of work gloves for just about anything, get these. They're tough, comfortable, and they'll protect your hands from most elements (especially with some waterproofing treatment). However, I bought these with the impression that they would be at least lightly insulated in some way, and that is not the case. They do a decent job of keeping my hands warm in chilly, windy weather; but for anything below 35 degrees I would want something much warmer.

great explanation and thanks for the temp rating!! I'll pass on these and find something more suitable for lower temps, but as functional and fashionable.

Will these gloves stretch any? I’m in between sizes and would prefer to size down if possible.

Leather does stretch out a bit as your wear it, so if you don't mind an initially tighter fit, these could work out being sized down if you are in between.

How are these are repelling water? Also,...
How are these are repelling water? Also, I'm curious if these are sized a little large. I may want to wear a liner underneath, so I'm not sure if I should order a size up or not.

In my opinion, they are sized just about spot on. I can usually squeeze into a medium, but find that I like the fit of the large best, even though the fingers lengths are a hair too long. Both my pair are size large. Yes, I would say if you want to wear a thin liner, then you may want to size up. They are OK at shedding water, as leather is water resistant. However, if you remain in constant contact with wet/snow, they will wet out, but still insulate nicely. Also, if your activity level is high over an extended period, they will wet out from the inside. I usually keep them waxed with some form of leather conditioner or wax product, and that helps alot! Awesome glove!
