For the love of skiing.
Your favorite time of year is here again, and while the daylight hours have grown shorter, you plan on taking advantage of every minute. The Marmot Women's Amora Pant will help you get into the swing of things, from early morning tours to afternoon laps at the resort. The waterproof membrane protects from waist-deep powder in the backcountry or from the spray of your skiing partner carving past you on the groomer, all well offering the breathability you require. A lack of insulation means you won't overheat on a skin, and side zippers can be opened for extra venting during a tough traverse. Internal cuff gaiters keep out the snow while you're setting the skin track, and the articulated knees make every motion effortless, so you have energy left to do this all again tomorrow.

All ski pants fit differently, but these marmot fit my curvy (big hip) 5'8" 140lb frame perfectly. Wish the rear was a little higher like some models and brans offer, but for the price and overall fit, I can't complain.
Tour all day, everyday in these!

I have 2 pairs of these Amora pant (nightshade and late night). These are my go to pant whether skiing in-bounds or backcountry. I like that they have the two-way zipper for air venting on long hauls. These pants are durable and sturdy. Most women's touring pants have too much leg space, but the Amora fits without being bulky. Very flattering, feminine fit. These unlined pants allow you to control your base layer, which I prefer. However, they are windproof and waterproof keeping the elements out!
Cute But Misses the Mark
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Large
The pants are good quality and comfortable fabric. I fall between sizes so I sized up to the large for hip wiggle room for snowboarding. Unfortunately I drown in them and will return so I recommend sizing down. I was also super disappointed the color Late Night wasn’t as vibrant as the picture shows! The zippers are also more of a Navy color if that’s relevant to your coordination efforts. This is the first item I’ve ordered w Backcountry where the item didn’t meet expectations.
Other considerations: I don’t like snap button closures on pants. Nobody wants to worry about snaps popping open when you’re bending! They do have velro to prevent that issue tho. I liked that the waist velcro is on the outside so it doesn’t snag all my baselayers! I am not keen with vents on outer leg rather than inner thigh, tho pleased they offer vents! I also noticed the inside of the pants seems to shed or fuzz off into the velcro bits. None of these are deal breakers, just preferences when dropping cash on spendy pants! I cannot speak to how they perform in the cold and snow. Hope this helps your search too!
