    Excellent choice

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Excellent for long day hikes, only option I'd like is from the pro version, that has the front zipper for easy access to the bottom of the pack.
Petzl Glacier axe doesn't reach the hook for the point very well, but doesn't really swing around without it, so there's that too.

    Great day pack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I purchased this pack as a day pack for hiking and mountaineering here in Colorado. The goal was to have a pack I can use for light snow travel, as well as long day trips but not as something as large for overnight.

The pack has traveled 100 miles now and it's great, the zippers work easy with gloves on, locking down trekking poles or ice ax is easy. Plenty of space for layers, food, crampons, navigation gear and then some. The fabric still looks "near mint" even having been dropped kicked and normal wear and tear.

The fit is great I'm 6'2, 168bls and the pack sits nice on my hips and is easy to get on and off when loaded.

I have the orange color, both because it's a cool color and to make myself easier to see to my partners when the weather isn't bluebird. The orange has so far stayed pretty clean.
My only "feedback" for the pack is that when loaded it is hard to place a full / refilled water bladder in the slot.

    Says it is 2lb 16oz. So it's really 3lbs?
