Every day ski jacket

Runs large

I've been looking for a replacement for my yellow and black Marmot Gore-Tex all weather, everyday ski jacket shell that I've had for over ten years. It's taken me two years to find exactly what I want. Gore-Tex shell, zip off hood, two chest and two side pockets, pass pocket on sleeve, inside zip pocket and net pocket for googles, powder skirt. Very hard to find all that and get a zip off hood. The Stoney has all that, so I bought a medium. I'm a perfect medium off the rack. 5'9" 150 lbs, in my entire adulthood I've never fit into a small anything until now. The whole coat was very large not just one thing or another about it, everything. The sleeves are to the end of my fingers with my arm extended, the wrist gaitors are huge and very loose around my wrists, same in the small size coat, the collar zipped all the way up doesn't come close to being snug around my face, the length is to the bottom of my bottom. The small fits me like it should. I can layer under it just the way I want Only a couple issues, one is the wrist gaitors, they are very loose and useless. Another is the location of the pass pocket on the sleeve, it's positioned on the part of the sleeve that is against my body, not on the outer side of the sleeve. The electronic pass readers are alongside of you as you pass through the gate. I'm going to have to twist my arm counter clockwise with my pole in hand for the pass to be read . All my ski coats have pass pockets on the outer side of the sleeve except the Stoney. I haven't seen a design like this in my 40+ years of skiing. As far as how it performs, well the season got canceled, so no on snow yet. I am certain it will perform exactly how it should. It's very well constructed, I'm sure I will ski in this jacket for the next ten years.

That’s the best jacket review I’ve ever read - kudos to you sir! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Second season on this jacket and I am very happy. This is a substantial jacket with all the bells and whistles. Pockets are convenient and zips work well. Hood is designed to be worn with a helmet - it's a little too big without helmet. This is my resort jacket. Climbing, mountaineering , and backcountry I prefer lighter weight/packable jacket
