This jacket had to fulfill a very specific job. I was on the market for a jacket like this to be in my workbag and ready to go any time of the year. Packing Size Excellent, make sure you fold the jacket up facing front and then roll it up into its hood and pull the bungee cord to tighten the package. Wind performance Excellent! This jacket keeps wind out and you comfortably warm. In stronger or colder winds best paired with one of the mid layer puffy coats. Water resistance Great! I have not worn it in significant rain or snow. How ever a few hours during drizzle and sleet and had no water intrusion at all! Abrasion resistance Good! Really good against rougher terrain like rocks, walls etc. Like any jacket, if you rub against sharper materials like sheet metal corners at mountain huts, sheds etc. it's not made to withstand that. Overall I am very pleased and impressed by this product and I definitely recommend this product!

Solid Synthetic Layer for skiing and climbing
Got this as a replacement for my Outdoor Research refuge synthetic jacket that finally became irreparable (which I believe they continue it as the shadow). While I absolutely loved that jacket and am a big OR guy I decided to give Mammut a try as I have only heard good things and that they are kind of a sleeper brand in the US. So far I am very impressed. Its incredibly warm, I live in Alaska and travel back and forth to the interior quite a bit so it does see extreme temperatures like -40. I appreciate the more technical touring style pockets that sit higher so you still have easy access while using a waist strap. Durability is yet to be seen, but I buy synthetic insulation with the sole intent that it will be abused more than what I'd be willing to put my nicer down jackets through. I will update more in regards to durability as the I abuse it more. I bought the large, am 5'10 athletic build (broad shoulders) 190 lbs, the sizing is a little snug but would not size up. It contours the body well with good range of motion. Only complaint is the zipper being on the wrong side but that's whatever, having the second belay zipper though is nice.

Soft and Super Warm
This jacket reminds me of other synthetic jackets that are soft and plush, but it's price and value kills the competition. The coldest I've worn this jacket is in 50°F and I started getting hot 15 minutes after starting a hike. This will be my mid layer paired with a parka for Alaska winter where we see -40°F temperatures. Mammut has great attention to detail, adding features I didn't even know I needed. Such as the hood with a mesh underneath, and the slightly rigid cap to shed rain. The jacket has the same features you expect from climbing jackets. Harness and backpack compatible pockets, but without being too high. It packs on it's own pocket (see picture with nalgene to compare size). Drawstrings on it's helmet compatible hood and at the hems to prevent it from rising above your waist. The wrist cuffs are elastic and the chest pocket is big enough for my Iphone 13 Pro Max (picture shows my phone same position it sits when stowed inside the pocket). I'm wearing a size M and the fut is regular, I'm 5'10 and weight 165 lbs.

Super clean construction
This is a middle weight insulation layer. Very light but not delicate. The zipper is awesome. I really like the layout of the seams on this coat. They are flat and do not rub uncomfortably. The cuffs are low profile and comfortable. Easily fits under a hard shell if things get serious.

Great all around mountain jacket
Used this to summit Mount Lafayette in the Whites of New Hampshire in February of '23; temps in the 20s at the top with massive wind gusts and ice. Jacket did amazing, kept me warm even while damp with sweat. Highly recommended!

Simple, warm and gets the job done.
Purchased for ice climbing, the Mammut Rime IN Flex Hooded Jacket is versatile enough to be worn while climbing or belaying. The helmet compatible hood and belay zipper are well received and love the warm synthetic insulation. This is definitely a regular fit which is beneficial for wearing over lighter mid layers. It's also surprising light, especially considering how warm it is. The only revision I would consider would be to add a loop to the exterior of the pocket so it and be clipped to a harness when packed. Super nice, well thought out jacket that looks great as well.

The jacket is extremely warm and blocks the wind really well. I use it while on a challenge course and has kept me comfortable in the elements. At 6'1 the medium fits well while also having layers underneath like a fleece and base layer. It's also really nice to have the option to have the belay zipper.
