    Versatility at its lightest.

The highly versatile Mammut Men's Ophir 4 Slide Harness brings the comfort without the weight for trad, sport, gym, and multipitch climbers. Split Webbing technology separates the harness's webbing into two strands that ride over and under your hips in order to reduce weight, increase ventilation, and decrease the necessity of padding, without hindering your comfort or safety. Four Slid Bloc buckles provide the ideal fit for a wide range of users in case your buddy wants to borrow the harness for a weekend. Mammut also equipped this harness with four gear loops for convenient organization, a tie-in protector for excellent longevity, a drop seat buckle for bathroom breaks, and a high-strength haul loop. It's incredible to think that all these features only add up to less than a pound.

    Fifth and favorite harness

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After owning a few of harnesses and doing my research I ended up purchasing this guy. Like some of the reviews have stated the size runs a bit larger then others but If you just order a size up you should be ok. I've sat for what felt like hours in the seat belaying and while failing on routes above my level. All good all day long. I prefer the four point buckle so that I can perfectly center my belay loop. I own harnesses at hight price points and prefer this one.
6'1 165 runners type of build. If big thighs were might oaks I'd be a sapling. I love that the legs can be fit to a leg as thin and beautiful as mine

    Worth the money

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I needed to upgrade my old harness since it should have been retired quite some time ago. Im 5'6" male at about 145lbs. I got the medium to xl size since I plan on wearing it into cold weather, with shorts and a tshirt I have the harness close to tightened all the way, so I will have plenty room for more clothing. Its very comfy and secure feeling, the construction is done well.A little bummed its made in Vietnam, for a company that advertises Swiss engineering.

    Light, Durable, Perfect Fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After attempting to look up sizing for this bad boy I was a little nervous because of the HUGE range these things are marked as. XS-M what? I'm a relatively skinny guy at 160 pounds and almost 6ft even and this harness fits like a dream. Greatly appreciated the simple sewn tabs on the ends of the straps so that you can easily keep them out of your way and not dangling all over.

Only reason I gave this a 4 was because the padding piece on the front of the harness seems to lay over my tummy a little odd. Not a huge negative but something new to get used to.

I'll be using this harness for years!

    Comfy Harness

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

We are new to climbing and are still learning in the gym. This harness fits the bill: sturdy, quality design made with excellent materials. The sizing was not confidence inspiring. Since my boyfriend's measurements fall in the middle of the two options, I thought it was better to go small than too large to allow the harness to tighten. He has a 32 waist and very muscular thighs. The smaller size fits very well although because the adjustments are close to the ends of their maximum lengths, it's a bit tricky to quickly put on and take off. Otherwise, he's very happy with it!

    Well rounded harness

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This harness is fantastic! Amazingly light weight and the dual web design with mesh makes it comfortably and breathable without sacrificing strength. Probably the most comfortable harnes I've owned and it is fantastic for any use. Whether you are playing around in a gym bouldering, or on a crag all day this harness will do. The dual waist adjustments let's you center the belay loop perfectly and also provides comfort. I am five foot eleven and thirty one inch waist. The smaller harness fits me perfectly without extra strap dangling all over the place. I would recommend buying this harness with that great man it quality!

    Climb time!

I am 5’10” tall, and weigh about 150 lbs. A combination of lightweight construction, a broad range of adjust-ability, comfortable wear and aesthetically pleasing design makes for a great all around harness. The Ophir 4 is a go to whether you are climbing trad, sport, or just at the gym. With adjustable leg loops, a drop seat buckle, and Mammut’s Split Webbing technology, you get a great harness weighing in at just over a pound. The sizing is nice, as it allows room for adjustment in case your buddy forgot their harness at home.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or to place an order. I would be happy to provide you with a personalized experience here at Backcounty!

Hey Ivan, could you tell me what the sizing for this harness is? Mammut's website doesn't tell you much - it just tells you individual sizing. What's the sizing for "XS-M" and "M-XL", please and thank you!
