I wore the Niva for the first time resort skiing this weekend and I am very impressed with this jacket! Temperatures were low-mid 20's and I was comfortable with a midweight baselayer and a midlayer underneath. When I got a little too warm after a few knee-deep runs, I cooled off easily when I opened up the pit-zips. The removable powder skirt with numerous adjustable features kept snow out when I fastened it to the inner seam loops on the Robella Pants. As far as fit goes, I love the longer length on this jacket, it covers a bit of my bum and hits about hip length. Although I do love the length, it is a little snug along the hips, not enough so that I would consider sizing up and it doesn't effect mobility while wearing the jacket, it is just noticeable while zipping the jacket up. Another feature that I love are the hand gaiters! I have sworn I will never wear another ski jacket without them because I hate when cold air and snow sneaks in my sleeves. And, this jacket has so many pockets! The pockets on the outside are big and have cargo flaps that cover the zippers, and on the inside there is a headphone-compatible phone pocket and a large pocket that can fit goggles or a beanie. Can't wait for more resort skiing in this jacket this season!
