The Mammut Nirvana 35L Backpack brings zen-like balance to the backcountry when you're touring for a day. It has a U-frame that keeps things stable even when you have skis or a snowboard attached, and the waist belt is detachable for quick "one-and-done" tours. This pack can also attach ice axes, ski poles, helmets, and trekking poles, leaving room inside for a hydration reservoir—which has its own dedicated sleeve—and all your personal necessities. You can access the main compartment through the back panel, even with a snowboard or skis attached, and the front compartment has organization for your shovel and probe. Skis can be carried A-frame style or diagonally, and a soft-lined goggle compartment keeps your eyewear safely accounted for.

Use it every time I'm in the field. Functional pockets and easy access. I like the dedicated avy organization in the center for probes, etc.

Great splitboarding pack.
Have been using this on almost a daily basis with the splitboard. Such a split pack. Shovel, probe, first aid kit, crampons, water bladder, and food fit well, and I still have a lot of space for extra layers! This pack is great for all levels. Love the bright red color for extra visability.

Has all of the features I look for in a ski touring back pack. Very durable construction.

Great fitting and comfortable pack. It has plenty of room in it and good options on the exterior for carrying equipment (skis, boards, etc.). The back panel access is nice for digging out that item at the bottom of the pack.

Great Backpack
Lots of versatility with this backpack. I have enjoyed its features and love the back panel entry when splitboarding. Don't keep glass beer bottles in the goggle compartment though because the metal cap will wear a hole through the soft fabric in there.

Amazing Day pack
Very comfortable to the point that I nearly forget its even there. Its roomy enough so I can bring a few extra items and food on longer tours. Fits beautifully and doesn't restrict movement skinning up or bombing down. The hip pocket is a must for me and the goggle pocket is functional. Full compartment access zip. Yep, love it and recommend it.

Durable and does it all
I've been flogging this bag for about a year now, from work on the ski hill, to touring and even climbing. The compartments are really well organized, and even have labels and reminders about good practice in rescue situations, which I can imagine would be life saving when a stressful situation pops up. The 35 is a good size, seems to be more generous than othe 35s. Be mindful that the back length isnt adjustable, but I've not really seen any touring bags that do adjust back length. I am 176cm tall and it fits me perfect.

Ce sac me suit autant lors de mes expéditions en ski que lors de mes randonnées en montagne, son compartiment désigné pour le matériel d'avalanche m'est toujours utile pour mettre du matériel de sécurité qui doit être accessible rapidement.

Outperforms all of my other touring bags

- I've put it through the wringer
I don't usually leave reviews but this bag is worth talking about. There are a bunch of features that really make this bag better than most ski touring bags. This bag features both a back access zip panel so you can load / pack the whole bag easily and a top access zipper to access the same main compartment. Back panel bags are great for your initial pack of the day where you can place everything neatly in the bag. However as the day goes on you use different things from your bag and sometime opening the whole back panel is pretty annoying, especially when trying to stuff a large puffy in and then zip it up. This usually ends in zipping the puffy or things shifting because you need to compress and zip at the same time. Thankfully this bag also has a top zipper to access the main compartment. This means you can stuff things and access items without spilling everything out of the back panel while on a steep pitch. Most ski bags only have the back access panel or the top zip, having both makes this bag far more useful in the backcountry. All of the webbing ski carry straps on the side have a locking feature so the weight of the skis being carried on the bag doesn't slowly loosen them over the course of your climb. This is a simple yet amazing feature. Lastly, the organization en ergonomics of the bag are well thought out. Small pockets, lined compartments, extra pockets in normal dead spaces in other bags, easy helmet sling attachment points, load lifter straps that work, I could go on. I've used bags by Arc'teryx, Black Diamond, Dakine, The North Face, and Patagonia. This one has the best features from each of those bags in one neat package. This bag is legit.
