So Nice for Super Long Routes Outside!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. Yes, yes, yes! Love this rope. It hardly gets kinky and it's so smooth and durable. The 9.5 really makes a difference when you're climbing a 60 or 70 meter route. It feels so easy to clip, feed through the belay device, coil, hike in and out, etc. I got this in 70 meters, but I'll probably get it in 40 meters for a gym rope as well. Can't say enough good things about this rope-you won't regret buying it! I've used it mostly in the desert for multi-pitch, trad and sport.

So Nice for Super Long Routes Outside!

    Perfect Gym Rope

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Light, thin, and easy to break in. We only had to run it through the anchors once or twice for all of the kinks to come out with the factory coil. Love the middle marker, especially on the 40m length. Definitely recommend!

    Best Rope I've Owned!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is by far the best rope I have owned. I have used it for top rope outdoors and it is super great to work with. Light and strong. Love having it in my personal gear closet! Highly recommended.

    Awesome Gym Rope

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought the 40m version of this rope for gym climbing and so far it has been great. It feeds through the grigri smoothly, flakes easily and packs up nice and small. I would recommend this rope to any gym climber.

    Pretty good

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got the 40m version of this for gym climbing and it's been working great! I would probably get something a little thicker for outside, just because the 9.5 seems a little quick through the Grigri, but not a huge issue! (Also didn't see this listed anywhere but it did come with a center mark already!)

    Simply the Best

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This rope handles great pretty much right out of the package. The 9.5 width performs well on many different climbs, and the 70 meter has served me very well. It would definitely be worth bucking up for a more protective sheath if I climbed more in wetter environments, but the Classic fits in just fine here in Utah.

Won't find a better rope at this price

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had a bad history with Mammut ropes so I took a chance on this purchase. I was pleasantly surprised with the great handling and low weight of this rope. This rope definitely changed my view on Mammut. I highly suggest this rope for an inexpensive, lightweight and durable trad line.

Let Me Tell You About This Rope..

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Honestly, you cant go wrong with the Infinity. The 9.5 saves on weight, so its great for those longer approaches to the wall. When i take people out to rock climb for the 2nd or 3rd time, I like to come down to the 9.5 from 10 so they get a feel for a more catching rope. Its builds confidence for people just getting into outdoor climbing and top roping because most standard gym ropes are a 10 mm. I mainly climbing in Utah, and this rope is great for the dry climate. If you plan on climbing somewhere with more humidity/ damp conditions, i would recommend going for the Infinity Protect.

    Awesome gym rope!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

We got the 40m for gym climbing and it makes a huge difference. We were using our 60m (10mm) rope and this one is so much better for inside. Feeding slack is way smoother with this rope and it takes no time to flake or coil.

    Wonderful Rope!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great for most all climbs. This rope has been everywhere and has very little wear on the sheath. Love how nimble the rope is, which makes it not kink and tangle as much as other stiffer ropes.

    Awesome Rope, decent price

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Totally awesome climbing rope for any of your climbing needs. This was my very first climbing rope and im super stoked on it. No problems with it at all. It catches really nicely.

Quality rope at a premium price

I have this rope in a 60 m dry, and decided to get a second in a 70 m classic. I love this rope and how smoothly feeds and feels. I bought the classic seventy as my primary climbing rope for long tours and linking pitches together. I will not be using the classic for any winter climbing.

Great standard rope for many uses

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Infinity Classic is the least expensive of the Infinity line and is great for a general use rope. The slimmer 9.5 diameter will keep weight down and work with pretty much any ATC. 40m for gym use and the 60m and 70m for the outdoors. Even though this is the least expensive of the line it has similar elongation, impact force, and UIAA Falls. This rope is for dry conditions. If you need a rope that will last longer and work in wet conditions look at the Infinity Protect or Infinity Dry ropes or contact me and I can help you find the right rope for your needs. Take a look at the attached photo for a great example of the durability of the Infinity line. The photo shows the Classic (top), Protect (mid), and Dry (bottom) after being run over a sharp edge 200 times.

Great standard rope for many uses

I am looking to get my first rope and will start out primarily climbing in the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon along with Washington and Northern California. I was wondering what you would suggest getting as a first-time rope considering the fall and spring conditions in Oregon. I was looking at getting the Mammut Infinity Classic for its price but was considering whether or not it would make more sense to get a rope that could handle wet conditions.

Why are half the reviews on this rope backcountry employees? love you guys, but that's a bit weird. Excellent marketing photo. I bought the 70m infinity protect and wish i bought the classic. keep in mind the protect/dry is going to pick up much more dirt and grime due to the coating. don't get me wrong, this rope is amazing, i just purchased another infinity (classic) to use for double rope raps. just something people might want to know.

      Great Rope

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This rope is definitely an all-arounder when it comes to climbing at your local crag or gym, this is affordable and will fit your needs.
