Haldigrat HS Hooded Jacket

Mammut made the Men's Haldigrat GS Hooded Jacket for mountaineering and backcountry touring with rugged waterproofing and light compactness in mind. Its Dry Technology Pro membrane boasts outstanding waterproof, breathable ratings for phenomenal protection from snowfall, powder slashes, and ice. A 3-layer construction makes this jacket surprisingly thin and light so you can pack it away without a problem. There are long zippers under each sleeve to amplify ventilation for skin tracks and sweaty ascents. The powder skirt is removable to transition from touring to mountaineering with ease.

Well built with fully taped seams and water tight zippers make the a great addition to those powder days on the slopes or rainy day afternoons on the trail.

Light weight, good vents, excellent fit

This is a great Gore-Tex shell. My only dislike is the left handed zipper.

Super light, windproof shell is very functional and stylish. Great for skiing. Lots of useful pockets. Not quite as beefy as expected but my favorite for all but the coldest days

Sleeves a little long but that seems to be the trend with all jackets

A very high quality, ski specific shell.

This is a great ski specific shell. If you are looking for a great high quality jacket for ski touring or prefer a layered system for resort riding look no further. Everything about this jacket is top notch from the materials, to the layout of the pockets and control of the powder skirt. If you are looking for a all round hardshell know that this hardshell does include a non-detchable powder skirt that doesnt have a purpose in summer activities, though with the overall quality of the construction id still consider this jacket for all around use if I was mostly skiing.

Great Outer Layer for Winter Fun

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Large

Have now worn just 4 days of Northeast skiing but have been through high winds, light rains, and whiteout snowsqualls. I have the jacket and pants and they are a great outer layer. Completely weatherproof. Plentiful pockets in the right places and great zipper systems. Only regret is I can not find a way to roll and contain the hood, or detach the hood

Well Thought Out Jacket

Have skied this jacket at the resort and in the backcountry and these are my initial thoughts. Pockets are positioned exactly where you need them and the large chest pocket has been big enough to store skins for quick transitions in the backcountry. Hood is extra large but can be synced to fit perfectly around a helmet. Also have enjoyed the exaggerated zipper tabs on the front zipper and armpits. Makes it easy to quickly dump heat. Jacket uses Mammut's proprietary waterproof fabric which so far has been keeping moisture out. I tend to opt for Gore-Tex so time will tell if this fabric holds up. So far I've been impressed with how lightweight and breathable this hardshell is. Softshell comfort with hardshell performance. Would recommend.

Solid Shell - Runs Small, Zippers broken

It runs small, had to order an XL to ensure I can fit base/mid-layers under the shell. One of the main, front zippers blew out on me within 2nd week of use which was disappointing. I'm hoping I can get it repaired.
