    Climb forever.

Whether it's ice or rock, the vertical world is at your fingertips when you tie in with Mammut's versatile Eternity Dry Climbing Rope. Its 9.8mm diameter complements moderate climbers looking to hop on more sport or trad projects, and it maintains a light weight for multi-pitches. By treating the sheath and core, Mammut drastically decreased the Eternity Dry's water absorption, enhanced its abrasion-resistance, and increased the rope's durability.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this rope for over a year now, using it a minimum of once a week and on average 3 times a week. It isn't showing any serious signs of wear and I'm starting to wonder if Ill ever have to buy another one. GREAT ROPE!

    A Workhorse Rope

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My boyfriend and I were looking for a new 70m rope as our 60m was too short and nearing the end of its *safe* lifespan. We researched several ropes for a while before deciding to buy the Mammut Eternity Dry Climbing Rope -- 70M Fire Royal. We were hesitant on the benefits of dry treated ropes vs cost, but we decided it was time to try it out -- and I'm glad we did!

The dry treatment adds some weight to the rope which is heavier than I expected but not that surprised considering it's 70m, however it also adds to its overall lifespan. The dry treatment not only keeps it water repellent, it also makes it more abrasion resistant which comes in handy on climbs with a lot of rope drag. After climbing on the old 60m, having this workhorse of a rope made me feel very secure on taller climbs.

The Fire Royal color is also really vibrant which is just nice to look at -- not really an important feature but a nice perk. I also love that it's bi-patterned as opposed to a middle marker which can be hard to see after it becomes dirty and you are feeding rope through quickly while setting up for a rappel.

    Overall, excellent rope from Mammut.

    My first rope ever!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought this rope on sale when I was first starting outdoor climbing. I wasn't sure what I was looking for, but I wanted something with multiple applications. It turned out that I didn't need a full dry rope, as that leans more toward alpine climbing/mountaineering, but I have found 70m to be the perfect length for every climb I have been on so far! Overall super satisfied with the Eternity 70m, it meets every need I have for it, and hopefully in the future, it will see action on the snow too!

    Awesome Rope

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This rope is great right out of the bag. Some new ropes really kink and are annoying at first, but this one is just smooth. It runs through both a GriGri or ATC very smoothly while belaying and rappelling. I've taken quite a few falls on it and it allows for a nice, soft catch. I did a lot of research before choosing this rope and though I've only used it a few times so far it has exceeded expectations. If you're looking for a great all-around rope that's decently light for trad and hardy enough for sport, this is the one.

    Great Rope!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Eternity has served me so well. I've had it for about 9 months and it has caught many falls. It was super soft and supple to begin with, and I haven't had any issues with kinking. I finally had to trim the ends after taking a few big whips in a row, but the rest of the rope is still holding strong.

    Simple and Smooth

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This rope replaces the Tusk in Mammut's rope lineup and is significantly easier to handle than the Tusk was. The 9.8 diameter makes it slightly beefier and more durable than it's smaller cousin, the Infinity, but with many of the same properties. With multiple lengths and a middle marker this bad boy is a staple for red point projects and tall climbs!

If you’re looking into ropes and are looking for a recommendation, give me a call or shoot me an email and I’d be happy to help you out with some recommendations. I have climbed on a lot of ropes on the site and have used almost every Mammut rope on the market!

I’m typically in the office Monday-Friday and would love to talk, but if you call and I’m not in, make sure to leave the best number to call you back at or your email address in the voicemail.

    Soft falls, great rope!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is my first Mammut rope, and it is awesome! It flaked smoothly right from the factory, and it had no tangles or twists. The rope feels great! It's not too stiff even though it's a dry core. I took a few lead falls on it with trad gear and the falls were soft! Great off the pro and on me! I love this rope! It also started to rain on the last day, but the rope held up just fine. I highly recommend it!

    nice all around

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've only taken this rope out a couple times so far, but its great straight out the package. It has great feel and a pretty good strength to weight ratio for its durability.

    Easy to handle

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my first rope and it has been awesome. I only have my friends ropes to compare it to and I choose to use mine over theirs every time(so do they) It glides smoothly through the quick draws and ATC. It is effortless to flake and strong to fall on. This rope has exceeded my expectations!

    Easy to handle

    Perfect Ideal Rope

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This rope is perfect for all around use. Outdoors and indoors. I have used it many many of times and years from now I'd like to purchase the same rope again. It's perfect weight and strength. I'd definitely recommend this rope to everyone. I am confident that it won't end up breaking or snapping on me

    Strong and Smooth

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

What an awesome rope! The double-dry(sorta. its core treated and treated on the exterior. maybe this is how everything "double dry" is done, but its my first double dry rope, so I don't know) stamp adds a boost of confidence in the gear whilst on the wall. Its fall rating is surprisingly high for a 9.8 mm rope. The exterior glides right on through the ATC/GriGri when you want it to. I'd definitely recommend this rope to any serious Sport/Trad climber who wants a top of the line rope.
