    Rappel and belay away.

Great for rappelling and belaying, the Mammut Crag HMS Slide Locking Carabiner is made from lightweight aluminum and features a snag-free keylock nose. The fit of the slider in the gate prevents accidental opening from rope friction and the pear shape extends the life of your rope.

    Nimble and Solid

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are large, solid and secure when closed. The magnetic action locks the Carabiner automatically without the need to 'check'. When I first got them I fiddled around trying to activate the sliders on both sides. It seemed that they would only work without gloves. The I realised this 'biner can be opened by sliding the small opener on only ONE side - even though the sliders on both sides move together. Now it is easy to operate with one hand. Slide with the thumb and pry open with the index finger. Got two of these for my PAS.

    2 Hands?

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Looked nice, bit on the large side. Thought it still would work
well for my belay device. Had problems with the slider in the gate area to open.
Maybe my fingers are too fat? Naw, my wife's skinny fingers had the same
problem. Needed two hands to operate, much difficulty, so I returned the item.
