    Solid Chalk

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great chalk at a great price. I use this stuff sparingly, savoring every grain, and it still works to perfection. Comes in a nice black resealable bag for easy re-use and transport.
Just get it already, you won't be disappointed.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like this chalk, it's pretty chunky but breaks down to a really fine powder. I prefer it ever most chalk excluding friction lab and frank endo. I'd say it's definitely worth the price, they could charge 1 or 2 $'s more and I would still buy it.

    Extra Chalk

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just needed an extra item to meet the free shipping quota so I just picked up some extra chalk. It will work, but it is not as tacky as BD White Gold.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought a few bags of this chalk and really liked it. I felt like it stayed and lasted a lot longer on my hands compared to other brands. So it made it seem like the chalk lasted a lot longer. I also liked that it was not in really fine powder. But honestly chalk is chalk and I think it all does the same job/

    Bag o' chalk

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Chalk is chalk...I bought two bags of this stuff and have used it outside as well as in the gym. What I like about this stuff is that its not all crushed up into a really fine powder. It works great when I use it but to tell the truth I really don't notice any difference based on the brand of the stuff. I'd certainly buy the stuff again but to me chalk is chalk.

    Great Chalk

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I boulder 3-4x a week and I've used a few other brands of chalk and I actually like Mammut's the best.

I like how Mammut's chalk isn't super powdery but there's some density to it and it feels as if there's a little bit of moisture so when you pack the chalk in your hand it sticks to your hands.

    Spider Chalk!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As many have said chalk is chalk right? From all the chalks I've used over the years, that no longer sounds correct anymore.

When it comes to the Mammut Chalk, I have yet to use chalk that comes close to this stuff. For retention quality, I have not used anything like this chalk. While trad climbing the Nut Cracker in Yoesmite, I found myself needing to chalk up far less than I had expected! When it came to one point where I opted to friction climb, lighting restraints made finding holds difficult, the the chalk held akin to my very own Spidey skills... Who doesn't want that when climbing?

As for the consistency of the chalk, it's the right mix of fine chalk and the clumpy variety.

    Chalk Snobs Unite

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used about every type of chalk I can find and this is one of two that truly stands apart from the others. It comes as a powder, with some chunks, that spread easily on your hands and stays there. Too often I have tried chalks that seems to roll off my hands immediately after application, but that was not the case with the Mammut Chalk Powder. What's more, it doesn't overly dry out my hands, causing them to crack and bleed, which is important for someone who uses as much chalk as I do. If you don't love your current chalk, this is worth a chance most definitely, plus if you don't like it, at least when you are done you have a handy lunch sack to take to the crag!

    chalk is chalk right?

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Or so i thought, I had the opportunity to get a few different chalks and thest them (Soill, Metolius, BD, Trango Gun Powder). and i would say as far as grip and dryness, it is a normal comparison to the Soill, BlackDiamond, and Metolius. but the constancy was the best part not too soft not to chunky. which made it last on my hands through a few(2-3) problems rather than have to chalk up every problem.

    It's chalk...

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I basically think all chalk is the same...except for bison. But this sure gets the job done and I'm not gonna lie, the coffee style bag is kinda cool!

    Mammut chalk gives you wings

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

There isn't too much to say about chalk. I have used many brands over the years (Bison, BD, Metolious, Mammut) and honestly they all work relatively the same. This chalk seems to cure sweaty hands so its good enough for me.

    Sweat palms no more!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have extremely sweaty palms, specially when i climb or even think about climbing! i started using this chalk and i haven't had issues! i also started using DMT liquid chalk as a base and then this i can do a multipitch without having to seriously re-chalk!

No sweat if you got sweaty hands

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When I climb my hands get extremely sweaty, chalk is chalk however I have found that this chalk keeps my hands dryer than a lot of others that I have used. I also really like how it stays on your hands for awhile, which is nice when trying out hard and long boulder problems.

    The best chalk

This is a really good chalk. For me now is the only one that I will use. I tried others and just don't like it.

One thing, I order 20 of these, and 1 came with the bag break and "fix" with tape, not a big problem but well, It's just that little detail.
