Why We Like The Mammut Broad Peak IN Hooded Jacket

One of Mammut's go-to layering pieces, the Broad Peak Insulated Hooded Jacket is a technical down jacket for winter layering and summer alpine adventures. The Pertex Quantum shell provides lightweight abrasion-resistance while repelling light rain and snow while the goose down delivers premium packability and exceptional warmth for the weight with its impressive 800-fill rating. The Broad Peak also pleases with well-placed pockets that are both hip belt-compatible and harness-compatible, so we can wear it comfortably for chilly backpacking trips, cold-weather climbs, and high-altitude mountaineering missions

4 stars because it's medium quality for the original msrp. If your hiking, it's Definitely warm for temps below 0 F.

Lightweight, packable, layerable. Huge fan, has held up excellently in cold winter weather. 800 fill power down has the warmth of a larger jacket. May require an additional layer for weather below 10F, or for alpine/arctic/antarctic expeditions where wind proofing is more of a necessity. Recommendation is that they make the pocket that you pack the jacket into lined with a DWR fabric to make it water resistant when stowed.

I like the unique looks, it wasn't as warm as expected but did well in mid 20's F' and packs well. seems like a good quality build

Great jacket for touring

Highly packable and more windproof than expected. Warmth test: Worked great at resort over a light mid layer in -10C with steady winds. Takes a couple of inches in the bottom of my backcountry pack. Also shipped in 14 days at peak Xmas season so order got some attention.

Super packable

Has an athletic cut that keeps draft from creeping up inside like some of my other puffy jackets. It is super late and packable It's very easy for me to stuff in my bike. Pack on long rides in the mountains. With whether you never know when you can get sudden drops and temperature.

Love the trim fit and finish of this jacket!

If you have a slimmer athletic build, these jackets are amazing! I find most clothing today to fit the chest area, but are way too bulky in the lower torso. That might work well for those with a large belly, but it's difficult for those without. This jacket is the opposite of that. It feels tailored, not too tight but certainly form fitting. The arm lengths are slightly longer and the length is adequate. It doesn't have the ability to tighten the hood, but fully zipped up I haven't found that to be an issue overall.

Furnace

This thing is comfortable and very warm. It moves well with my body and feels great. The zip comfortably covers my mouth and the hood fits perfectly. This thing keeps the wind out and of course does well in the snow.

incredible midlayer!

Size L and im 5'11" 180 fits excellent. Length on the waist/back. keeps snow and wind out a little better! for its weight and build, Mammut came through well. haven't tested in any tougher conditions yet but overall very pleased. handles a good bit of wind well (I was in 25 deg with 30 some mph wind gusts and sunny) As with all down, joints pack in faster and Id limit water/sweat with this but its exactly what id hope for in quality and warmth!

Alaskan Arborist

This jacket is great. Feathers seem to stay in. Its light and cozy and fits well to my form. I bought a medium and I'm 6'0 175lbs for reference. What I like best about this jacket is that the cuffs and hem at the waist sit snuggly to my body to keep the wind out. Ive tried on many puffy jackets and I think these cuffs are some of the best. My only complaint is that the stitching inside my left pocket is a little wonky and my fingers fit in there uneven. All in all though, I'm very happy with this purchase.
