Alugator Pro Light Shovel
Alugator Pro Light Shovel
Mammut's Alugator Pro Light Shovel is lightweight and compact, yet extremely strong and reliable for efficient digging in emergency situations. Its strong aluminum blade cuts through firm snow and avalanche deposit with ease, and is designed to be tilt-resistant to remain intact under heavy loads. The cutouts in the blade not only reduce weight, but also double as attachment holes for building snow anchors or a rescue sled. An ergonomically-shaped grip and stabilization ribs on the shaft add durability and strength transfer when you're moving large volumes of snow, and the telescoping shaft easily locks into place for quick assembly in an emergency situation.

Absolutely love it. I only wish that I could flip it to make a scoop but otherwise it is great. It is lightweight, compact and is pretty sturdy.

Light & Sturdy
I use it as part of my emergency kit in my car since I live in AK and getting stuck is a real possibility during our long winters. I love the orange color & it’s light and sturdy.

Easy to use and lightweight
I love this shovel, whether it's used for digging snow pits to look at snowpack conditions or using it to dig out a stuck snowmobile this thing moves snow quickly and cuts through crusty snow layers. This it the first piece of avalanche equipment I've owned but my first impressions are great! Hasn't let me down yet. It also fits beautifully in my Nirvana 30L backpack.

Alpine Ski Patrol
Solid construction while being lightweight. Great shovel to keep in the backpack when patrolling on the resort or venturing into the back country. The bright orange finish makes it easy to spot in any scenario. A must have essential for any alpine enthusiast.

Great lightweight shovel. Excellent digging edge. Back of blade cut's nice walls. The paint is a little thick though so it is hard to assemble/disassemble. Have debated sanding it down. Not sure if this is a design flaw or a manufacturing issue. Needed to use it right away or would have probably warrantied.

light and reliable
easy to open and light, the surface is big enough to make decent-sized blocks and move considerable amounts of snow in a short time. it doesn't flip to the pull position but for the weight, it is so easy to bring it anywhere, anyone going to the backcountry would appreciate this tool. definitely would recommend !!
