Solid shovel
Lightweight, but still has tight tolerances and doesn’t rattle. Used it during my Navy Cold Weather Instructor course and it held up great! Love being able to switch from shovel to hoe and back.

Light and capable, but long handle
This is pretty close to a perfect avalanche shovel. It's light but sturdy, has a full grip, and supports either normal shovel mode or hoe mode (which guides agree let you move a lot more snow quickly). The blade size is good and the build quality seems solid. There are a couple minor issues: (1) I wish Mammut had added a little stopper rivet to prevent accidentally overshooting the little clip that holds the handle in place, in either mode. It's easy to accidentally push the handle too far through, especially when you're moving fast in crisis mode. (2) The handle is quite long, even when fully collapsed and separated from the blade. It just barely fits into my BD Dawn Patrol 32 avalanche pocket, and requires some careful positioning of the other components to fit at all. I haven't found the same thing to be true of a couple other avalanche shovels.

Great shovel
Easy to put together, quick to deploy, very effective, and light. Very satisfied with its performance when doing practice rescues and when digging snow pits.

Amazing shovel
Extremely functional shovel. Just be aware that the handle takes more space than t-shaped handles so make sure it will fit in your backpack.

Big shovel and lightweight
We have big snowpack on the Coast of BC with humid snow and I wanted a big shovel for this. This one is the biggest I cold find while also being lightweight and well built. Would recommend.

MAMMUT - Alugator Pro Light Hoe
Great light shovel. Compacts well and assembles quickly. The perfect shovel to have in your pack in the backcountry.

Only reason it's not a 10 is because the shovel is just a bit too long to fit in my small ortovox pack, but otherwise amazing shovel. I use it for skiing, snowmachining, digging out the house and everything else that requires snow shoveling. The handle is also great, preferable to a regular T-handle.

Great piece of equipment
Fits great inside most packs, and has easy assembly which feels sturdy. Wont leave the house without it. No complaints so far!
