Alpine Sender Dry Rope

Mammut's Alpine Sender Dry Rope is a triple-certified climbing rope that you can use as a half rope in the alpine, a twin rope on a multi-pitch, or a single rope on challenging single-pitches. Best-used by experienced belayers, its thin 9.0mm diameter packs small and reduces rope drag on wandering routes. Mammut's Dry treatment excels UIAA's standards for limiting water absorption, and it significantly enhances abrasion-resistance for a greater performance on rock as well as ice. Mammut also added a center mark to assist with quicker rappels.

so far so good

Have been using this for a season for alpine and ice climbing. lightweight and performs as expected. I got the orange color so the middle mark would be more noticeable over time. My friend has the blue color and the mark is invisible after a season. Have not noticed any wear but its only been one season. No complaints

Great Rope for Multi-Pitch Climbing

We've been climbing on my friend's Alpine Sender Dry for a while now (she actually has two so they can be used as twin ropes) and just loved it so got our own. It's nice and light and belaying is so comfortable and lightens the load a lot for multi-pitch climbing as well as the weight carried on the approach. Mammut is may favored brand--they come coiled in a way that doesn't require any extra work to get out kinks, and they are soft and supple to use.

Terrific do it all rope

I have now used this rope a number of times ranging from Alpine Rock Climbing in Colorado and the Tetons to a glacier rope on the Ptarmigan traverse and Rainier. It is truly terrific. The rope is easy to work with, whether throwing into and out of kiwi coils to setting up a hanging belay. Overall I am quite happy and despite hard use has shown little signs of wear. The coating on the rope works quite well especially in long days on glacier with it running between dirt to water.

Versatility and great handling

Would I recommend this as an introductory rope for TR project sessions? Nope. Does it hit the sweet spot for versatility as a single or double rope? Absolutely. The Alpine Sender Dry has great handling and is thick enough to inspire confidence when used as a single. When used as doubles it allows groups of 3 to climb multipitch and offers improved safety over tagline tactics on double rope rappels.

Best cord out there!

Easy to tie and untie compared to regular nylon cord. It also works great for friction hitches. I have bought 4 of these over the years and is my go-to cord for anchors.

Perfect for ice climbing

This rope is perfect for iceclimbing! The water resistance has lasted for the last year. It hasn't gotten slick in my atc or grigri even when icy. I got the 60 meter which has been a good length for what I've used it for. I want to get a shorter length for glacier travel. Maybe a 30 or 40 meter. You can't go wrong with this rope and it will last for quite a long time compared to many other ropes I've owned. I don't know if I'd use it for a lot of difficult rock or cragging. You could probably use it as a lightweight ripe for red points but I think there are some other ropes that would be more suited for that.

versatile light rope with easy handling. Used many times over a regular 9.8 crag rope due to being so much lighter on multi-pictches and crags that have a walk to get to.

Great, well performing rope

Led with it in Shenendoah, and will use it on upcoming trip to New river gorge. Rope performed well, and did not get dirty despite my less than optimal handling. Middle point is clearly marked with black dye. Overall great experience.

The best rope

This 9.0 is it. I bought this to use on endurance days for linking routes in Cochise Stronghold. It's super light so you can move fast with it, and really great for its dry qualities. I'll continue buying this light rope for more adventures.
