These are very nice ride/casual wear shorts. The fabric is very soft brushed cotton, and just the right thickness for a good blend of durability and ventilation. They do fit on the very large size--so size DOWN. I usually wear a size medium, and with these in size small--I still need to wear a belt. That's a small concession because otherwise they are very very nice--better than Rapha casual shorts, of which I often wear. They do have a very nice and sturdy metal button (another preference over Rapha's silly dress-pant hook and difficult inner button). My only other little gripe is that the front pockets could be deeper (while the rear pockets are in fact very deep).
