Why We Like The Mad Rock Drone High Volume Climbing Shoe

From plastic to rock, the Mad Rock Drone High Volume Climbing Shoe gives us an aggressive profile and a comfortable fit, so we can stay focused on our beta when going for the top out. The downturned, asymmetrical profile is matched with a full-length midsole and low-profile rubber, giving us lasting precision and sensitivity, while the 3D molded heel cup and patented concave sole with ArchFlex conform to our foot for that snug, second-skin fit that won't slip or shift on heel hooks and credit card edges.

Drone 2.0 steps down from previous model

I think the Drone 2.0 with the molded one-piece rubber (sole, rand and toe rubber) is a step-down from the original Drone. It makes the shoe very insensitive to small holds, and the one-piece rubber will no longer stretch/mold to one's feet. It's essentially the Drone Comp with a stiffer rubber. The entire time wearing them they felt like clanky wood clogs. The heel fits well still.

Most Comfortable High Performance Shoe

Great overall shoe. Stiff out of the box, but softens up really quick as you break it in. I have more of a medium volume foot, and these fit so perfectly. I also struggled with multiple different models and brands when it came to the heel, the heel would only fit if I downsized to an unbearable amount, but in these shoes I opted for half a size down from street shoes and can comfortably fit my toes in the front of the shoe as well as having the most secure heel I've ever had in a shoe. The concave midsole also naturally pushes your toes into a very natural and comfortable crimp position which allows you to really use them without the terrible pain of downsizing like every other brand out there.
