Farren Down Jacket

It’s easy to get lost in a long-hemmed puffy coat, but the Mackage Women’s Farren Down Jacket flaunts a flattering silhouette without losing the warming power of natural down insulation. The outer shell features diamond shaped stitching on the sides to accentuate the feminine waist and a leather-trimmed zipper down the middle to create a bold, straight line. The down insulation runs all the way from the removable hood to just above the knees for enhanced warmth and comfort in below-zero temperatures. The luxurious look continues even down to the pocket trims, lined with Mackage’s signature leather.

this is my second winter with this coat. I LOVE the stretch fabric - a gamechanger, lightweight & movement free & easy. V warm. Also I got XS which fits close to the body (I'm 5'7" 122lb). Sleeves could be longer & there are no knit cuffs. But I bought cuff tubing online and added 7" double cuffs into each sleeve. (the body of boot sox also make good cuffs). Coat is also very drizzle resistant. // My experience with Mackage retail customer service has also been very mixed - very rude/ useless and pleasant / helpful.

I bought this coat and loved it at first. It's warm, stylish, and doesn't have a garish logo on the sleeve. But as the end of the winter approached, feathers started poking out EVERYWHERE. There were so many feathers that pulling them out myself did nothing. I decided that the coat cost way too much money to just discard after barely one winter, so I looked into the warranty. Sure enough, Mackage offers a limited warranty on their products. I contacted them via email and sent along all the photos and everything else they required. They took a while to respond, and when they did, the customer service person actually suggested that it would take so long for them to make the repairs that it probably wasn't worth it. Umm, what? Needless to say I sent it to them anyway. Months passed and I had forgotten all about my coat, when it showed up unannounced in an unmarked box. I opened it to find that it's more crumpled than it was when I sent it to them, and it was DIRTY. Not only did they hold on to it for months, they must have discarded it somewhere and when they finally got around to fixing it, didn't even bother cleaning it before sending it back! I will never buy anything from Mackage again.

I figured because this product was expensive, it would be high quality, but it is the exact opposite. The jacket is very cheaply made and doesn't appear expensive either. The feathers began falling out, in maybe 100 different places in the seams, from the first week of use. I am so incredibly sad I spent this much money on a poor quality piece of clothing. I beg that you please save your money.

I'm looking for a warm everyday coat for New York City winters (~20 degrees on average). How would this coat compare to the Arcteryx Nuri or Patera coats?
