    Stiff, and not.

Everybody knows that carbon fiber is the ideal material for lightweight power delivery in an outsole. It isn’t known, however, for its comfort. With the Louis Garneau T-Flex 2LS shoe, howev er, you can have the power and the comfort at the same time.

T-flex technology provides the best of both worlds with a stiff, responsive, carbon fiber sole. This sole, however, has flex built-in, so walking becomes much more comfortable than with a traditional carbon fiber sole. The flex is located strategically, however, so it doesn’t give up any of the outsole’s power transfer.

The T-Flex 2LS also features dual-density lugs for increased traction off the bike. Closure is handled by the BOA system, which allows you to precisely fine-tune your fit. The uppers are made with ultra-breathable microfiber to keep your feet cool during the ride.

    Runs small

    • Fit: Runs small

Agree with Jason, except the "true to size" bit - for me, anyway. I wear an Asics 12.5 and 13 in Brooks, Nike, and most other things. the 48, which the sizing chart says is a 14, is too tight. I was a footballer and like the snug fit of a shoe, and this shoe has an awesome toe box (closer to the Bont-style, or Keen/Chaco), but just too short. You can see the non-pointy toe box well on the picture from straight above it.

ALSO, a huge PLUS... the inside of the heal is a special fabric that is smooth going in and rough coming out. It holds the heal so well. And there are little grippy rubber things that I'm sure will wear off within the first year, but the heal-hold is amazing! I so wish they fit...

Caveat: Difficult to really rate a product without actually using it, so take the stars for what that's worth. Appears to be made well and the toe-box, upper, outsole, and heal-hold would sell this to me, for sure.

    if the shoe fits

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Two things I want my bike shoes to do - close tightly and be stiff. These do just that. Its a road shoe with tread, basically. Boas do their job, shoe outers are durable and are handling rocks and scrapes well. They dry quickly and the sole isn't too plasticy like some shoes, causing you to slip anytime you're on a hard surface.
