B. Y. O. Chamois
Normally, a large portion of our product descriptions for shorts and tights are devoted to the chamois they include. This is because the chamois is a hugely important element in shorts and tights, often deciding whether we'll even give certain cycling bottoms a second chance. By not including a chamois, the Louis Garneau Providence Bib Tights give cold-weather protection and the choice of which chamois you want to wear. There's no need to hang your summer shorts up for the season, just wear them underneath the Providence Tights, and enjoy your summer chamois through the winter months.
These bib tights owe their protective qualities to a whole stable of materials, with panels of Light WindDry 2 and Light Wind Pro incorporated into a general body construction of HeatMaxx. The lower back and the front of the legs use Light WindDry 2, a four-way stretch material that fends off wind and water. This is interrupted at the knees with Light Wind Pro, a new material that takes advantage of Polartec Wind Pro's tight weave to block four times more wind than other fleece materials. Since Light Wind Pro isn't a laminate, it's more breathable than typical wind-blocking materials. The Light Wind Pro knees have been given a DWR treatment, are durable, and won't pill. Though it's only a cosmetic concern, we find the last benefit especially attractive. HeatMaxx is a fleecy, insulating fabric that stretches and breathes to keep you comfortable in cold weather during hard efforts. The bibs insulate, too, courtesy of Highlander Mesh. They also continue the general theme of wicking and moisture management found in all of the Providence Bib Tights' materials.
The tights are constructed with 11 panels of the above materials to ensure an anatomically appropriate fit. Flatlock seams eliminate chafing and the articulation in the knees means that your movements in the saddle won't be restricted. Nine-inch ankle zips help get the tights on and off, and ankle grips keep them from riding up once they're on. Reflective elements at the front, back, and bottom help keep you visible across 360 degrees in low-light conditions.
The Louis Garneau Providence Bib Tights - Men's are available in six sizes ranging from X-Small to XX-Large in the color Black.
