Good stuff but waist comes up high

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium
  • Height: 5'9"
  • Weight: 162lbs

I'm 5'9", 162 lbs., 40" chest and 32" waist. First the good: excellent piece of clothing for temps in 40s for normal riding and even as low as mid 30s if training hard. It's not thermal but the material is a little "thicker" lycra which is exactly what I was looking for. The length is good too from top to bottom. I wanted a pair of tights that came up far enough on my back to avoid that "draft" of empty space between long sleeve jersey and tights. This definitely comes up high.

Now the bad: if you are doing really hard training I find that the waist comes up too high as one or two other reviewers noted. We were in the mountains of Georgia and the waist band was just too tight & uncomfortable when climbing for any sustained length of time. I was pulling them practically off my butt after a while since they were starting to give me stomach cramps they come up so high. I know, I know: "you want the waist band high but when you get it, you complain". I guess it is either too high or more accurately the waist band is just too, too tight.

Overall though I still like them. Just be ready to "roll them down" at the top if training hard.

great cool temp. tight

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small
  • Height: 5'9"
  • Weight: 139lbs

This is a great tight for cool temps. (50-60 F). The fit is true to size other than the long waist as noted in another review. I just rollover the waist band too keep the crotch area from getting too droopy and catching on my saddle. Otherwise, it has great compression for a light-weight tight and seems very durable. You can wash/dry it inside out to help avoid wear on the brand labeling

Almost as good as my 2xu

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Great fit. Would be ideal for cooler days. Make sure you are gentle when washing as I lost part of the prints on my 3rd wash.

Louis Garneau Ultra Tights

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

I live Victoria, BC, the temperature has now dropped enough (-2) to warnt wearing full length tights. If it gets much colder, wearing knee warmers over top of the tights - would be ideal. I'm very happy with how they feel and fit - with one exception, they are long at the really long. I guess the idea was to keep your belly warmer... it's not a big deal but it is a little weird. Other then that - i really like them, cool style, generally a good fit.
