Don't worry, it doesn't have to be a stay-inside day.

A sleek, lightweight jacket is essential for fall and winter riding, which is exactly what the new Enerblock Women's Jacket delivers. Louis Garneau designed this jacket with panels of element-blocking fabrics so that you remain comfortable and protected from the weather while spinning away on your favorite rides.

Louis Garneau constructed this jacket using its EnerBlock fabric. This material is a three-ply stretch knit that features a polyurethane membrane and a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Accordingly, your freedom of movement is ensured, as well as a solid protection from both the wind and water. Layered with the EnerBlock is Garneau's HeatMaxx material. This is an opaque Roubaix-type material with a smooth outer-surface and a brushed microfleece lining. This stretchy fabric strikes a fine balance between keeping you warm and not restricting movement with any bulky materials. In fact, this fabric's composition works to keep your core warm, while at the same time, it ensures that you stay dry through its exceptional wicking capabilities.

The jacket was cut with an anatomic shape, and it features a more race-oriented fit. Additionally, Garneau has included a full-length, two-way zipper in order to provide ventilation at the top and bottom of the jacket. The zipper is backed by an inner-flap that stops wind from penetrating, and there's also a zipper garage at the collar. All the seams were flatlock stitched in order to eliminate friction and to create a closer fit to the body. Lastly, stretchable cuffs were employed, which allows for flexibility and movement at the wrists.

You'll also find that the jacket has plenty of storage for winter accessories — three angled back pockets, two front pockets, a zippered sleeve pocket, and a media pocket with a port for your headphones. The jacket was finished with reflective front and back accents for increased visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.

    Wrong size and description

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Small

I'm a very active cyclist who bought this jacket for my wife as a gift. This jacket runs VERY small. Also, it's incorrectly advertised in Backcountry's product description as a relaxed fit. No, this is a racing, roadie fit jacket.
I did chat about the sizing before my purchase with one of the Backcountry product experts, who said the jacket ran true to size and recommended XS for my wife's height and weight.
The regular price for this jacket is $144.95, and if I didn't get it on a 50% sale, I would have returned it. The jacket is fairly light, even though it's advertised for winter riding. It definitely isn't worth $144.95.
Overall, I'm not pleased with this shopping experience, and this is probably my last purchase from Backcountry.

    Great Jacket, wrong size.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I'm not a tiny cardio bunny, but in my years of cycling I've come to realize that Pearl Izumi really fits me best when I'm in my more...well...less fit stages of life. Pearl Izumi seems to have a more "north american" fit compared to the other companies out there. I LOVED this jacket; the materials, the pockets (OH THE POCKETS!), the fact it wasn't a black or red or girly pink or hi-viz colour. Alas, I've forced myself to return it for the similar jacket from Pearl Izumi: P.R.O. Softshell 180 Jacket. I don't like the color selection of the Pearl Izumi jacket but the fit is more realistic for me and somehow I got the P.R.O. version cheaper than the more colorful Elite 180. I would not hesitate to purchase this jacket for everyone else who is considering it!
