Works better than the alternative.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

In my quest to search for a good comfortable grip on the curved dropped bars of these fancy skinny tires bicycles, I have tried many option's in search of the drippiest options. From sandpaper, to duct tape inside out.. although many alternatives may seem to be reasonable subsitutes, I have that sandpaper often was too course and calloused my hands. Along the same lines, inside out duct tape was just far too sticky and I often experienced difficulty removing my hands after long rides, often causing me to "eat it" (as it is often referred to these days) much to the chagrin of spectators at many a traffic intersection. Enter Lizard Skins DSP. The 2.5mm thickness provides the right amount of comfort and vibration absorption while the texture is impossible to beat for a compromise of tackiness and the ability to remove your hands.

Grip!

Grippy bar tape even when wet, perfect for riding with bare hands. 1.8mm thickness is awesome for a very responsive road feel.

Worth It

I have never understood why you would spend more money on handlebar tape... until now. While it's only a few bucks different, I could never get myself to order this grip tape; When I finally did, I won't be switching back. This tape is slim and sleek and most of all full of grip. I use this on my triathlon/tt bike, so am frequently wet when riding. Coming from a history of shoulder dislocations a small slip can throw them out, so I needed something extremely reliable. This is it.

Grip, no slip!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

All I use is Lizard Skin DSP tape, as it keeps my hands on the bar in the sun and rain. Doesn't matter if my hands get sweaty or I am caught in a rain storm. This tape works and the colors are awesome! I got this particular tape for my son's road bike for racing, as normally I go with the 2.5mm tape for a little added comfort. Get some. Your hands will thank you! -Scott

simply the best

This tape is top notch! To me this tape is on the thinner side but still does a great job with having a good grip.

Grippy and Durable

Familiarity:

I've used each thickness of the LS tape, and this one definitely offers the best feel without being too cushy or too harsh. Fantastically durable long-term when wrapped well, it's my go-to for every pair of drop bars I have.

The Best I've Used.

This tape is amazing. It has great cushion but it's not too thick. It reduces fatigue, which is especially noticeable on longer rides. I'm onto my second purchase of it and I only changed it because I had a light color for the past year and wanted to go to all black. Otherwise it would have lasted because even after a year it didn't really show any signs of wear. Definitely one of my favorite products and certainly worth the money.

Thin and Grippy!

Familiarity:

This tape is thin, grippy, and durable. Normally a black tape only kind of guy but I tried the black camo and it looks pretty good.

Nice, slightly tacky feeling and also provides some cushion or vibration dampening. Love this grip!

Great Tape, maybe a smidge too tacky

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I'm running this tape on two bikes, and it's great. Once I had the spacing figured out, I had no problem with the length of the spools. I did have some initial challenges getting the tape to lay flat without stretching it, but YouTube solved that pretty handily. The only challenge I've had so far came during a couple of bottle-grabs in a race, where my gloves wanted to stick just a little more aggressively to this tape than to the bike's previous tape. In hindsight I probably should have done a couple more training rides on it to get used to the feel, but otherwise it's great! There has been no slippage at all, unlike my experience with the bulkier 2.5mm equivalent, which came undone under the shifters after pulling Bar Mitts on and off a few times.

Great Tape

I usually run the standard DSP 1.8, but have been unable to find the black which I normally run in stock. I tried the race tape, and may even like it better. Great feel and grip, not bulky at all, and feels great riding without gloves. Awesome tape.
