Charge up and get on the road.

Get recharged fast with the Light & Motion Urban 800 FC Headlight. With half the charging time of the standard 800, the 800 FC throws out 800 evenly dispersed lumens of light. Boasting a great field of sight, this little light will get you through your commute safely and serve as a bright beacon to let vehicles know you're on the road.

Amber-colored sidebars on the housing light up for added visibility, and the whole unit has a IP67 waterproof rating to survive rainy days and stay bright even in the worst weather. The Urban 800 FC mounts on your helmet or handlebar with easy, tool-free installation.

    expensive, but worth it?

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It is extremely brighter than my sub par lighting it replaces. The light does not flash. It strobes which isn't completely noticeable while riding the bike in my experiences. If you are planning a lengthy ride it takes some getting used to the battery life and when to switch between the different modes to prolong battery life when riding longer distances.
I personally don't usually stay out longer than 2 hours after dark but that isn't the case for all.
The other guy on here did make mention that these sell on the OEM site for considerably less, but that wasn't the case a month ago when I got mine.

ideal for dogging potholes and Prii

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this light as my daily commuting light. its perfect for that. light, durable and easy to use. In bright and medium it will easily lights up enough road to cruise comfortably at 25+mph. I've had many people come up to me and ask what light I use because they like the beam throw. I often find myself training at night and use this light for ascending hills and riding on the flats and use a bigger light mounted to my helmet for descending twisty mountain roads. I have also used this light mountain biking on the handlebars to do the same thing/ light up the trail immediately in front of me on descents. The time it takes to charge is fantastic, especially if I forget to charge it overnight. I can plug it in while I get ready and know I will have enough light to make it to work and back. The charge indicator light on the back is also very helpful as it allows me to conserve the light if I know I will be out for a while longer and the battery is running somewhat low. I'd say the battery last longer than expected, but I do not have much to compare it to. The attachment strap is durable, easy to use and replaceable! the amount of lights I've lost because the strap broke is pretty dumb, but this light is meant to last. This is a great product and in combination with some brighter lights is the bee's knees for all your riding desires. Get one. You wont regret it!

Never worry about riding after dark!

I love Light & Motion lights. This light is amazing for how much light it puts out in a small, self contained unit that I can easily put on and take off my bike in seconds.

Best feature is how it lets you know how much charge is left so you never have to guess. Nicely lets you determine how bright of a setting you can use relative to how much ride time you have left.

Super Bright, but no real flash

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just like the non Fast Charge model, instead of a flash, this light has a fade on and off mode which probably won't earn the attention of drivers who are busy texting while they drive. If this is your only front light and you value flashes, I would skip this model (though there are others by light and motion that will fit your needs).

I am using this as one of two headlights on night rides (one light is dedicated to flashing and pissing people off with the "Urban 400 series" while this one is to provide light to see the actual road so that I don't nail potholes.) Over kill? Maybe, but it's my life right?
