T.Rice Pro Pointy Tip Snowboard
You might not have the nerves of steel and unfathomable skills of Travis Rice, but you can at least emulate his big-mountain bravado with the Lib Tech T.Rice Pro Pointy Tip Snowboard. This particular T.Rice Pro features longer lengths and pointy tips to give it enhanced float and stability, making it ideal for slaying deep powder and charging intense descents.
Featuring a C2 profile, the T.Rice Pro features rocker between the bindings for better float and a less catchy feel than traditional cambered boards. Camber under the bindings extends to the tip and tail, enhancing stability when you're pointing it down steeps and hauling at scary-fast speeds. The cambered zones sit directly underfoot, allowing you to snap off natural hits, launch cliff drops, and clear bigger kickers without a problem.
Not only does the Horsepower construction make the board easier on the environment by replacing some the fiberglass with basalt fibers, but it also reduces overall weight while creating a poppy and powerful feel for boosting off everything in sight. Serrated Magne-Traction edges claw into icy snow conditions for plentiful grip when everyone else is sliding out. And because it's meant for hauling at crazy speeds, the sintered base readily absorbs wax for faster glide.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
A lot of reviews online say this board is for experts only. I’ve been snowboarding seriously for only a few years now and took a chance on this. They couldn’t be more wrong. This board is above all, confidence inspiring. It’s stiff enough to be stable at very high speed, but not so stiff that you can’t absorb bumps comfortably or even do some butters & presses. The camber profile and the raised tips make it equally responsive on hard pack, and floaty enough for powder. The board also has tons of pop, locks you into deep carves, and turns easily,. The best thing about this board, as an easy coast rider, is the edges. I don’t even care anymore if there’s a patch if ice in my way. This thing will carve right through it.
The only downside is width of the board, even on the wide model. Is still a little narrow around the binding mounts. With a size 12 boot, and a +20/-20 binding setup, I have a little over 1inch heel/toe overhang. That said. I never got toe drag at any point.
